Various family members and friends from church and the army gifted me 74 Bitcoins in total, yet I have no idea what they are...
Is it a new form of online currency or something? 74 Bitcoin to spend on what?
I'm too old for this lol
Edit: Apparently I'm a millionaire.
This is truly a blessing. Going to get whatever treatment I can possibly get to fight this cancer, and now my daughter will have her college expenses paid in full. If I don't make it, she will be taken care of financially. I feel like I should thank you all for your prayers and thoughts.
I am shedding tears of joy and relief.
Bless humanity.

Dooooooood. You are -blam!-in RICH

1 ReplyIt is a ponzi scheme. Don't fall into the trap.
-
Sell them quick, dude. The value is dropping fast
-
Also, there are several good docs in Netflix that explain Bitcoin genesis and future.
-
Id sell soon. Currently there's a bit of a bubble there. It's not a scam, though, like some seem to think. There are far too many powerful interests involved with Bitcoin for it to fail

You can't take a picture of bitcoin, guys, it's an online micro-currency. Yes, I fell for the bait, and yes, someone on these forums doesn't know about the aforementioned statement.

5 RepliesEdited by Flee: 12/29/2017 5:21:32 PMI guess I'll have to be the skeptic here and say I don't really believe this. You can't exactly "gift" someone bitcoin like you can with ordinary currency. It requires an account, wallet and a decent amount of technical know-how to set up. Not only is 74 bitcoin worth over a million dollars, but I am finding it almost impossible to believe that a group of people from your church and such (likely not the most tech savvy people who'd be partaking in the extremely high risk investments in the most volatile cryptocurrency there is) decided to not only just give you such an enormous amount of money (something which undoubtedly would make the news as a charitable event) but that they would then do so by using a cryptocurrency that is not only rather difficult to understand / manage (especially considering you're an "old man" and most of your church is probably too), as well as being extremely volatile, unreliable and pretty obscure. To think that they would go through all of this and take such an enormous investment risk for a man who knows nothing about cryptocurrency, only to then not even tell him how much it's worth or what it does, instead of cashing in and providing you dollar value instead? Sorry dude, but I'm calling some major X to doubt. As much as I wish you the best, this is making my bullshit meter go off like crazy and, truth be told, makes me very skeptical of your previous claims and the cancer story as well. Happy for you if this is true, but I have my doubts.

How the hell? 74 bitcoins? You're hella rich man! I'd be surprised that you get 1 bitcoin but 74? Wtf???

74????? *faints*

1 ReplySell them soon... the price fluctuates like crazy with those things. Or you could try to wait to see how high those things can climb in value, but it’s a gamble. Congratulations though! That’s a ton of money right in the nick of time!

Edited by RC32: 12/29/2017 8:27:07 PMAhh, I have no idea either lmao. I guess I am too old for that as well, even though that makes no sense since I'm 16 xD. Guess I am not involved with those trends. Also I am really happy to hear that for your daughter's education and future. Once again, hope the best for both of you.
