The meta is teamshooting (getting more than one gun on a single target).
Teamshooting is nothing but kill stealing, traditionally considered a noobs tactic, cheap and without skill. They had to change the scoring to count assists as kills to make this meta work at all.
This meta does nothing to teach or reinforce personal skill. What it does do is make things easier and more accessible for kids and new players who now only have to learn to follow others around and steal their kills.

Edited by Darth Lunchbox: 10/25/2017 5:52:51 PMIt's a team game, playing as a team is the whole point. Team shooting has always been in Destiny. There has only ever been one mode meant for individuals and that's rumble, which will most likely be added back. And this is coming from a solo player.

It’s almost like it encourages people to play as a team in a team activity... *GASP!*

A competent developer builds in the variety of gameplay to support multiple play styles, lone wolf to sweaty tryhard. Bungie pioneered much of the variety we expect in fps pvp more than a decade ago, and should have learned a lesson from Halos wild success.

I agree that rumble should be an option, but kudos to them for encouraging team play.

Having skills at a game translates into nothing substantial in real life

Computer games are a escapism from real life so what does it matter if they "translate into nothing substantial in real life"

Except in any shooter game team shooting is always a viable option to earn kills for the team faster. Only people I ever saw kill stealing were the "pro" players anyways.

Its the average player who suffers from kill stealing (except in d2 where everyone gets the kill credit) My major issue is that teamshooting is the only viable way to play. There is no room for skilled solo heros here.

You must not be good enough then. I tend to split off and get multi kills and see other people that then in turn make me look like garbage and get multikills without help against me.

It the noob is the guy on your team who is running off alone. So I would say they didn't make it easier for noobs. They made it harder. Personally, the team shooting argument is getting old. There was team shooting in D1. You just feel it now because of a slightly longer ttk and the lack of OHK weapons.

I’m not a big fan of D2 Crucible, but what part of teamshotting doesn’t take skill? It’s teamwork and focusing on singular targets and winning gunfights together? I don’t think it’s fun, but I don’t think it’s fair to say it doesn’t take skill.

If you didnt all get credit for stealing each others kills you might think different.

This is exactly what I was thinking.
