For those that remember, Artifacts were a piece of gear that didn't serve an aesthetic purpose, but still held a Light value in Destiny 1. Upon further inspection of one such Artifact, the Ring of Living Stone, a symbol on the top of it was found. Until now was just considered a small purple insignia with little significance, but in reality, it bears the Mark of Thalor, one of the greatest Titans to bask in the glory of the Crucible. A worthy champion, he was belived to be invincible, but would be murdered by the rogue Guardian, Dredgen Yor. What the connections of the Ring to Thalor mean is that Thalor was actually an Exo Titan, based on the flavor text from the Artifact:
"In memory of the Deep Stone Crypt, the tower where we were born."
Further significance from this is limited, but is a interesting little detail. Understandably, it is Destiny 1 material.

Makes me wonder if Thalie was a sunbreaker as well.

1 ReplyGood catch. Never noticed that. But the ring is a warlock artifact, Thalor is a Titan. Maybe the mark is more an order of exos that thalor was a member of rather than thalors mark himself.

The word "mark" in the "Thalor's Golden Maul" description refers to it being a Titan Mark, it's not referring to the golden maul symbol as the mark of Thalor. The Ring of Living Stone uses this symbol to represent the Deep Stone Crypt without making any reference to Thalor. So it's likely the golden maul symbol is historically associated with Deep Stone. Thalor, who is likely an Exo as you say, probably adopted this symbol as his own in the Crucible. Also a possible fun fact: Destiny being effectively a space age fairy tale, every character type and class has a fantasy equivalent. Titans are knights. Warlocks are wizards. Awoken are elves. And Exos are golems, artificial life created from materials like stone or clay. So Exos are metaphorically "Living Stone"

3 RepliesSo, does this mean that Exos don’t necessarily need to have a number near their name?
