Was playing a couple crucible matches and realized from the start that some one was using the sword without ammo and took one hit to kill. And the first ammo pickup that spawns early was obtained by me, so it was an empty sword. I thought the damage output for the empty sword was suppose to be halved. Please investigate. And thank you for your time.

Not to mention, the hitbox for sword hits is hugely forgiving, or broken. Making me not only agree, but refuse to use said garbage. I'll likely equip a sword though, to get that bit of mobility, if it's got a lightweight perk. Because most other Power Weapons are wack due to ammo issues.

It doesn't kill in one hit, it kills in 2-3. Also if you let someone kill you while they go around with empty sword ammo, I just cant help but laugh

1 ReplySolution. Swords require no ammo. They start off doing base melee damage. Each kill with the sword increases it's damage until the it hits a charged state where you can hit r2 for a heavy strike, continuing to use the weapon in it's charged state can allow you to build up to a level two charged state where you can unleash a heavy two strike combo, continuing to build up to rank 3 allows you to unleash either a super attack which may be ranged, or a three strike powerful combo that's strong enough to take down most things in the game which aren't ultras. Three melees will down a guardian. Swords work in three strike combos. Make the first strikes slow, as in, as slow as standard melee strikes, and each following strike increases speed. It's not op. It puts swords primarily into the pve arena, and you won't get one hit by them anymore. Sure you can play through a whole strike with nothing but a sword, but so what. No. Seriously. So what. Fixes the problem adequately.

1 Replyyeah getting one shot cheesed with swords is bothering me, seems no one uses shottys, RL or sniper rifles

2 RepliesI've seen this happen ALOT here recently. Walk around the corner and suddenly boom, your dead by a single sword hit. I've been trying to figure it out aswell
-
nah, you got slapped with the sword hilt bruh

1 ReplyRemember the Exotic sword quests...

I used the hunter sword and it took two hits to kill. The guy wasn't looking and I was practically hugging him and it took two hits. If he was aware then I would have died (this is without power ammo).

2 RepliesWhy you even mad, you let it happen

4 RepliesI second this. If you have no heavy ammo then you shouldn't be able to kill someone with one swing of a empty sword, let alone any. It breaks the power weapon slot entirely

2 RepliesI used to do that on d1 when I was working on exotic sword, because I so rarely got ammo for it. It is still pretty powerful, but it has that moment of stumble on hit. I'm not a pvp player though, so I hated it, hence why I tried to get it done asap by just using the hilt. I agree that it should be addressed in pvp, but I think swords in pve need to be buffed to be able to still be used without ammo, just be weaker. After all it's still a piece of sharpened metal without the energy damage. I'd love to be able to use a sword more often in pve. *shrugs* but then that is just my opinion and likely not a popular one, lol. I just feel like players are so weak in pve nowadays.

1 ReplyI remember beating down people with an empty hilt, good times.

1 ReplyWhich sword was it? If it was the Titan one, I think it should be a OHK because of how slow the animation is.
