I disagree. Destiny has some of the best gunplay around. Destiny is all about guns.

Doesn't matter when the mp lags balls and players have more health than bosses in crucible.

Maybe this is part of the problem.
Destiny has some of the best gunplay around.
Personally I wouldn't know. I'm not really a huge shooter fan. I prefer hybrid games which have guns, melee and powers. Mass Effect, Alpha Protocol, Destiny. Never been a fan of the pure FPS games. But if it is also one of the best gunplay games out there, for some people anyway, I can see why they'd want to double down on that aspect and get the maximum of fun and/or challenge from that. I'm not that way, though.
Destiny is all about guns.
For you, maybe. Me, I love(d) Destiny despite it being a gun game. It was a fun game with fun powers, fun weapons and a fun world - despite the story being weak in places. But in the 18-ish months I've been playing the game, the parts I found most fun have dribbled away. Heavy went down to one spawn per (not-Mayhem) match. Less fun in PvP. Special Weapons losing capacity. Less funnier OvE (until they fixed the ammo drops) Losing ammo on death in PvP. Less fun. Reducing and rotating the PvP modes. No fun. I dropped PvP at the point, as the modes I wanted to play weren't always there when I was in a particular mood for them. I want to be optimistic for D2 but I find it hard. As D1 already showed. a willingness to strip the fun parts in favour of the parts of the game I was less invested in and D2 hasn't yet assured my it won't go similarly. But hasdrkpped a few hints that is might be more that way after all. Give me powers. Give me grace aces. Give me implausible and unbalancea ble weapons to run around with in PvE. Give me fun. If I wanted to play a tournament shooter with rat-a-tat kinetic weapons, I'd be playing Battlefield or COD. There's a reason I play a Magical Space Shooter, not a real-ish world gun game.

Sounds like you should try Warframe. If you like feeling like an OP ninja against a trash mob, that game will do the job.
I prefer hybrid games which have guns, melee and powers.
I think that's what a lot of people are missing when trying to counter the feedback on "too much gunplay, not enough magic". Destiny was marketed as that...it was supposedly a first-person shooter that incorporates role-playing and MMO elements in a "shared world experience." A lot of the PR pushed around warlocks had emphasis on magic more than guns. Same for Titans. IIRC, the only class that really tried to allure to gun-skill was the Hunter, and even then, it was mostly gunslingers. I was interested in the Hybrid, and so I am here. Some HALO players were interested in this concept, and came for the same reason, and played both games. Bungie needs to be really careful in not doing away with what used to be their selling point on what made them unique. It's slowly just becoming another shooter...And if it does lose this spark on the long run...well then...HALO was created by Bungie and it is an older franchise.

Fair point, Bungie is often a little [lot] obscure with their PR material.

Yes D1 definitely has the best gunplay around but it's about both... Awesome gunplay AND abilities... 😉
