This isn't CoD. This is Destiny. Using space magic is what defines Destiny and what sets it apart from other games. Putting PvE and PvP together does not work. You cannot reconcile the two - they have completely different needs and skill requirements. Placating to one hurts the other when they are tied to the same sandbox. You'd think after 3 years of repeated failure to balance the two together that you'd have learned this lesson by now....
The Bungie Update mentioned ability "tweaks", but it ALSO mentioned the fact that abilities like our grenades and melees should be "rare". This is clearly a PvP decision due to the excessive whining about grenade and melee deaths. This decision is made at the expense of PvE, which is the actual game. Destiny isn't about guns - it's about Nova Bombs, Golden Guns, Tripmines, Axion Bolts, and Fists that frequently induce Havoc.

PvE is NOT the game! Less than 15% of my time was ever dedicated to PvE. I hated having to play and grind strikes or having to raid to get good gear. I would like to be able to get the same gear and weapons from playing PVP and doing great. I think in this aspect both realms should work similarly. Im not all crazy into playing a computer AI, thats not exciting to me. Playing real live players to show my skill and winning is my drive. Im so sick of ppl yerning to endlessly shoot and grind at a computer generated monster. And no, i dont want to go play COD or other shooter games. Destiny PVP is my thing

Edited by GallifreySpecOps: 8/12/2017 1:45:51 AMD2 isn't cod because D2 doesn't sully the memory of the greatest war in history with a multiplayer that involves use of the word 'killstreak' and makes youtubers giggle with glee at using FLAMETHROWERS! Flamethrowers, although they were God's gift to Marines, and I think using them was definitely the right decision, are a gruesome and completely inhumane weapon, the use of which shouldn't cause anyone joy. This game must have vets turning in their graves. And before I draw 'old guys these days' comments, I will point out that I am 14, albeit a very well read 14 year old, and I regularly have to defend violent video games to my parents. Nevertheless, CoD WW2, and thus CoD by extension, disgusts me. Ok, now that I'm off my soap box, I would like more space magic.

A push for mor pvp based balancing seems less like a call from Bungie and more like a call from Activision. Since their CoD empire is falling hard, they're trying to cater to there main pvp fan base within another game. People are fed up with the constant bs from CoD so they want something different, and there giving them something different... sort of... at the expense of another games core experience. Just another predictable move from the money grabbing part of the industry that for some reason nobody saw coming... is what I would say if that was a fact and not just my opinion. I could be totally wrong.

D2 is less like COD based on the beta because it's no longer a mass non skill based spam fest.

Anyone have a ps plus trial i could have?

62 RepliesWhy do you say we? Who are you to speak for everyone? I personally DO think abilities should be more powerful land more rare. It forces you to think more before using your abilities, and not just mindlessly spamming your abilities until something happens. Also, how the he'll do rare abilities make the game anything like CoD? Destiny 2 is probably the farthest from CoD as a shooter could be.
-
D2 let's go!

3 RepliesYou say "we" but I think you mean "you" You do not speak for me thanks

5 RepliesDid you read the "This Week at Bungie" for this week? It says: "TWEAKED: Globally reduced the time it takes to charge your Super This was a big change that came directly from your feedback during the console beta. We agree it was taking a bit too long to cook up a Super."
-
11 RepliesYeah, piss off with 'we'. Abilities aren't meant to be used as a primary, yet in D1 you could practically play a whole -blam!-ing match without firing a bullet. It was slow in D2 admittedly, and they recognised that already and fixed the issue.
-
Give it a rest. You don't even know what any of this means, or how it will actually play in game.
-
3 RepliesI hate CoD and I want our abilities to be rare.

I'll reserve judgement until I see the weapon system in its entirety. Who knows how the system will function when we introduce items which enhance our guardians. Exotics, weapon mods, I only have pieces of the puzzle available to me. Who knows what whacky fun is just behind the curtain.

1 ReplyWe don't want them to be spammed either like it is now in d1, shit is ridiculous I can't stand every gunfight people start by throwing a grenade or smoke bomb. It's beyond annoying, I get that I suck but I hope d2 is nothing like d1 and frankly I enjoyed actually fighting someone with just my weapons. But I'm sure some whinny pvp streamer is going to ruin d2 just like they did to d1.

I am still going to buy and play Destiny 2. If I don't like it, I don't have to play it anymore and I won't buy future Bungie games. It is that simple. I will not make the mistake of letting other people's negative views influence my decisions again. I will let the full retail version speak for itself.
-
2 RepliesI play a good portion of both pve and pvp. I hate abilities in pvp, I don't enjoy dying every minute from the abilities, I'd rather it be guns. You say it's not a gun game but more than half the time you play you are using a gun, so I'd say, yes it's a gun game. Abilities in pve are gonna be fine, I don't really think it takes away from the experience if it takes 3 minutes to get your super or 5 minutes. That's how I feel, so you definitely didn't speak for me.

I concur, sir.

Completely agree!! Bump
