This isn't CoD. This is Destiny. Using space magic is what defines Destiny and what sets it apart from other games. Putting PvE and PvP together does not work. You cannot reconcile the two - they have completely different needs and skill requirements. Placating to one hurts the other when they are tied to the same sandbox. You'd think after 3 years of repeated failure to balance the two together that you'd have learned this lesson by now....
The Bungie Update mentioned ability "tweaks", but it ALSO mentioned the fact that abilities like our grenades and melees should be "rare". This is clearly a PvP decision due to the excessive whining about grenade and melee deaths. This decision is made at the expense of PvE, which is the actual game. Destiny isn't about guns - it's about Nova Bombs, Golden Guns, Tripmines, Axion Bolts, and Fists that frequently induce Havoc.

Well said!

This is how i feel as well.... talking to friends last night I realized that all my issues with bungie can be summed up as such "I want to kill everything with any sort of space magic" it's why I bought this game and it's why I fell in love with it! But be careful bungie cause I'm trying to hang on but your making it easy to let go.... I am praying that love doesn't go and I will thank you for what you have done in the past just please remember what and why you started this journey :)

More space magic
-
Defo agree with it's being done to suit PvP, I dont know why they dont separate the recharge times, faster in pve and slight slower in PvP.
-
2 RepliesI used space magic in the beta. Maybe your bumpers are broken?
-
6 Repliesif you take the word "Rare" and look it up in a thesaurus. It makes much more sense. Some of my favorites were. limited, occasional, scare, uncommon, unlikely, Few and far between, seldom, short, sparse, unfrequent So I can see why they went with "RARE"

4 RepliesWhile I see Cozmo's reply in this thread, I feel like it is still misguided. Abilities should be a focal point. It does differentiate the game. And it's FUN. Abilities are fun. But it seems often enough that Bungie is more concerned with PvP balance over what is considered 'fun.' And that sucks.

Tough just pre order, buy dlc and microtransactions. Activision
-
12 RepliesThis. In spades. The road to what appears to be a primary vs. primary E-sports crapstorm began long ago with the destruction of Destiny 1's Crucible. Looks like the Destiny franchise is locked on course, and in a direction I have no desire to go.
-
3 RepliesWell we want to be an e-sport mlg game sooo Tough tiddies Activision
-
By the way: The TtK on Primaries or anything else will NOT be faster than in the Beta. It'll be the same (1.0-1.2, so slower than in D1). They just changed the numbers to make the PvP trailer look more fun, actionpacked and fastpaced. Confirmed fraud imo.

2 RepliesWhat do you mean its not CoD? It IS CoD with space magic. Same easy to milk fanbase too. Activision milked CoD scrubs for so long that they're conditioned to accept being rippedoff. You will do the same, Guardian. Enjoy the ripoff, its here to stay.

1 ReplyExpect Destiny 1 plays exactly like Cod. You are just replacing the name kill streaks with supers
-
2 RepliesDestiny is turning into Cod because we want it to. Yours sincerely Activision
-
2 RepliesThis is Luke Smith at the helm... expect no less than arrogance and more of the same in the future. After all, he knows best.
-
Being unhappy with a change in Destiny does not mean you can equivocate it with Call of Duty. The gameplay varies so much between the two titles that anyone who makes this comparison makes me believe they've never even played CoD.
-
And no one mentions the fact for the PC Beta they tweeted Grenade Damage for PVE ONLY.... Which means their could, possibly, maybe, be a chance BOTH PVE AND PVP ARE SEPARATED?
-
My favorite posts are posts that use "we" in the topic as if the author has any legitimate authority to speak for the whole community.
-
21 RepliesYou might as well give up. The PvP crowd has won. They got the halo-esque shooter they've been craving. Maybe if the PvE players complain for 3 years straight, Destiny 3 will be the game they want it to be.
-
I totally agree. Destiny is about that space magic. Spamming grenades, melee... just straight DPS... And having fun while you doing it. You'll never satisfy a PvP players. They will be ALWAYS crying. I prefer the raids.

5 RepliesJesus it's nothing but constant whining from this community just shut up already! Do most of you honestly believe bungie hasn't been listening? Are y'all really that brain dead?! All the bs you people complained about for 3 stinking years is being adjusted and what you're still not satisfied. Seriously what would please you folk it seems like every change bungie does there's nothing but whining but if bungie wouldn't have touched a thing you'd whine about that. I don't blame a good portion of the bungie figure heads to not show up on these forums. They created this game with YOU in mind this isn't some evil marketing ploy to steal your money; no this is their passion to please you. You know what it's funny the people who complain the most are the ones with stupid high play time for a game you people complain about constantly y'all sure plugged in so many hours. Honestly I hope a good majority of this community disappears when D2 releases maybe then actual discussion can be held without such bile being spewed everywhere.

Mega bump ✊!!

3 RepliesBungie needs to freaking listen to us for damn once!
-
This is just one of the constant flow of changes we'll be seeing throughout the lifespan of this game. Just as in Destiny 1.
-
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUMP.

Couldn't have said it better bro!
