Huh. Never thought about it. It's interesting because Exo names are usually a given name followed by a number. Like, Cayde-6 or Saint-14. This makes sense because these names almost resemble "model numbers" or versions. But if they were revived as an exo, did they really choose those numbers as their modifiers? Maybe it was printed on their body somewhere?

The number is referring to the number of memory wipes they have received, dear. So it's a changing number based on their life.

I didn't know that. So when Saint 14 was resurrected the first time by his ghost to become a guardian... was he aware that he'd had 13 other memory wipes? Like that's the question isn't it? Is it just intrinsically in the Exo's programming to know this? That's memory though isn't it? So did Saint 14 know his name? Was it told to him? It'd be a feat enough to remember Saint, but to also be aware of 13 other life cycles? Or is the implication that he's only died as a guardian or had a wipe 14 times?

Now I can't remember exactly where I read it but guardian Exo's can no longer suffer a memory wipe event since their ghost will revive them instead. So the 13 previous Saints were from before becoming a guardian. I think one of the Exo's grimoire cards talks about an Exo warlock who repeatedly shoots himself in the head to try and rattle loose some ancient memories he might have.
