You know exploration is a big factor in Anthem how? I mean just look at it this way, at this stage before destiny's release three years ago I thought exploration was a big factor in Destiny as well.
Don't get your hopes up all over again like this you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. I honestly can see this game looking like a destiny killer and flopping just like the division.

Well, for one, you can see map markers on the hud before "the drop". That's more than destiny ever did already. plus they have things that get "discovered" and you get xp for doing so.

There's HUD markers for divisions supply drops and collectibles and Destiny has HUD markers for Patrols and public events. It's meaningless. Believe it or not you got EXP for "discovering" destiny's new planets and you got EXP for "discovering" golden chests. "Things" is not convincing at all to me that there's exploration. As far as I'm concerned, it's another division waiting to happen.

lol wow alright, if you want to be that pessemistic about it fine. not gonna sit here arguing with you about it. Watch the video and you'll see what I see. the markers are much different and much more distant than destiny, and the discoveries are more apparent than destiny, i didn't even know it was considered a "Discovery" in destiny, just felt like a linear story.

Pessimism is the only way to go about new games. Thanks to the publishers and developers.

Edited by RingersCheckmate: 6/16/2017 4:37:54 PMYou're getting uber hyped about a game which only just showed gameplay because of the size of a HuD marker? Call it being a pessimist but I'm learning from the Division and Destiny. Why would you fall for the same trap a third time? Because the HuD marker is tiny? My biggest gripe with what you're saying is that it's "what destiny wanted to be" and literally the size of a HuD marker is all you have to back it up. At least have some sort of valuable reasoning to say something like that.

Edited by Sky Sweeper: 6/17/2017 4:01:14 PMI'm not "uber-hyped", hell I'm skeptical. You're confusing interest with hype. Just because I say I'm curious about a thing and will be keeping an eye on it doesn't mean "omg I'm so hpye is gun be bestest game evar". As for what I want it to be - fine: I am glad we have free-roam flying. I am glad we have exploration and discoveries to make (that actually are discoveries, not progressions of story like destiny). I'm glad the movement system looks weightier and a little slower than destiny, gives me time to think. I'm glad the detail is immense in it. I'm glad it has a first-person perspective when in the city, it makes it feel more immersive, whereas destiny has the opposite effect. I'm glad we can actually go off the beaten path and don't have to load into a specific mission every time we want to do something - we just go into the world and find it. I'm glad the world looks diverse and the terrain looks varied, unlike destiny that just has pre-determined paths leading to specific nodes (Mothyards, rocketyard, etc). I'm glad the gunplay doesn't look so twitch-reaction focused, for what little of it we saw. I'm glad water doesn't kill you. and much more. You'll probably nit-pick everything I said, but you asked for what I am interested in so I gave it to you.

I get the "uber hyped" vibe because you said "it's what destiny should've been" at the point where you JUST saw gameplay. I don't need to nit pick what you said, I'll just tell you this. Destiny looked like it had a pretty vast open world in its trailers too. We were also told there was a lot of exploration and places to discover. You need to not be so gullible, especially after Destiny and the Division happened. I'm trying to be a realist here. You shouldn't say something like "Anthem is what destiny should've been" until you've at least played the beta. In no way do you actually know enough about the game to make a statement like that. So many people said that same statement about the Division being better than destiny before the division released. They thought its world would be vast and explorable too. "Division will kill destiny"... and it turned out it flopped. Anthem? We've just now seen tidbits of gameplay. I heard they dodged the question about PvP, I don't have any hopes.
