While I agree the Combat Evolved had the most fair legendary difficulty, your assertion that anyone who found 'The library' difficult as a pansy is wholly off base. Considering that elites were easily dispatched with a plasma pistol and a few AR rounds. The flood were quite the challenge from sheer numbers and the wave format Bungie used for the levels. Plus they could basically one shot you with a melee. So i say congrats on beating Halo on legendary. Just don't think your experience was the "Right" way that Combat Evolved should have been played.

I'm not saying it's some cakewalk, but the difficulty is greatly exaggerated whenever someone wants to boast about clearing it.

You misunderstand what The Library has a reputation for. It isn't for being 'the hardest level ever.' It has a reputation for being very hard and also incredibly, incredibly long. You go through door after door with dozens to hundreds of Flood each time, coupled with the repetitive look of the level as well as the unique ways of spawning enemies. The Library is famous for essentially being the worst level. Not for being the hardest.
