The idea is pretty solid. I have generally been against trading/swapping weapons after the travesty it made Borderlands 2 into. But this idea has some merit. Needs more specifics to not ruin the game mechanics, but still a decent idea.

The only [i]possible[/i] issue that could arise I don't specifically mention is the equipping of tradable gear and any xp gains on said gear. I'm all for allowing players to put on gear to see if they like the stat spread and aesthetics before they decide whether they want to trade it. Trading gear with xp gains would simply have the xp wiped upon trading. That would eliminate the issue. Other than that minor detail, I'm confident that if this idea is coded properly, it is resistant to abuse and allows players to benefit from it if they want to use this feature, as it is optional to trade with others.
