Destiny 2 will not have enough loot to warrant trading. But how can i know this?? its simple Destiny 2 is not a brand new imagining of the destiny universe. it is not a remake nor is it a reboot. it is the direct sequel to the game we are currently playing. This means that there will be many similarities; one of which will almost certainly be the loot. Another similarity will definitely, I can 100% guarantee this, will be the grind. trading would lessen that grind. 3. trading(and I've seen some posts on crafting as well, this also applies) would require this game to go into more of an rpg type game. Bungie is most likely looking to recreate the success of halo, while activision wishes to recreate call of duty's success. Thus they have to keep this game accessible to as many players as possible. Keeping the perk system and leveling system simple is the perfect way to do that.

  • Many people got Destiny originally because of the RPG elements in the game, with the belief that was the game's general direction. Adding multiple Warlock, Titan, and Hunter raid armor sets within a single raid, each with different set bonuses, would be a HUGE step forward and not too hard to implement. They could go a step further a add multiple weapons of different achetypes: for example, a high and a low RoF auto rifle.

  • Ah but trading doesn't have to be limited to gear... There are those of us that have simply earned too much strange coin, notes of light, or any of the eververse or treasure box consumables and ornaments. What if you needed silver dust and your buddy just so happens to have a large stack of it? What if you got multiples of the same ornament and your buddy who's been grinding for days with no luck getting the same one you have? This is a perfect example if how trading could work without taking away the futility of "the grind" so to speak in regards to armor and weapons. On that note it seems you're not understanding or you simply didn't read this gentleman's argument because he discusses rather specifically that in regards to trading legendary or even exotic gear there should be a small window of time after completing an event where said gear was earned where you could trade your rewards ONLY AMONGST YOUR FIRETEAM MEMBERS meaning that just like the whole of your argument states, the only people able to receive any gear would be those who WERE IN YOUR FIRETEAM to experience your grind. His argument had nothing to do with drop rate or the overall quantity of loot obtained, its about what this game was really supposed to be about. Its not supposed to be about the grind, its supposed to be a game about cooperation, teamwork, helping your friends. That's why the top tier activities require fire teams. There is no matchmaking for these activities because you're meant to team up with your buddies or not be lazy and reach out to find a team yourself forcing you to make connections even if they're temporary. We are meant to share our grinds our triumphs and our failures with other players and if we can share our experiences side by side then why not share the rewards we earn side by side?
