I really don't like set bonuses because it forces people to look the same. I'd rather there not be bonuses and just use armors I like

  • No one is "forced" to use any gear. If you care about appearance, then that os your choice, but understand that needlessly being at a tactical disadvantage will be frowned upon by others. Ornaments and shaders exist to help you customize your armor, but it makes sense to have Vex gear on in order to receive Vex-based bonuses, for example. As I explained to someone else, generic vendor trash SHOULD be mundane and offer nothing special. Can you do the raid without raid gear? Obviously, but the point of getting raid gear is to slowly build up a series of perks designed to make the raid a tad bit easier or more forgiving next time through combat perks since you've already survived the raid without said bonuses.

  • Overall raid armor already offers perks that are beneficial to the raid and IMO that's enough. This idea of trying to make Raid armor significant better than everything else would negatively effect gear diversity. [quote]No one is "forced" to use any gear. However, if you don't other players are going to be less inclined to play with you... Is that what you're trying to suggest?

  • Well a way we could get around this problem would be transmogrification so people can wear their sets and still look how they want

  • While you have a point there would also be ornaments and shaders to help with this. I, too, love to give my Guardian a unique look but these bonuses would be too awesome to pass up.

  • Yeah even still I couldn't do it. Armor is your look in this game. You can have different shaders and ornaments but you'll still end up being too similar IMO. It's not something I can support in a game like this

  • Yeah I can see that. I hope they come out with exotic armor ornaments in D2.
