  • I mean all 3 of my raids are complete, including the 6 challenges. My group defeated Crota with no issues using these methods, which is why I shared them. Entertain me.

  • In terms of “potential” misinformation. Be very careful of solar grenades on the swordbearer. The sword is super glitchy and will sometimes disappear. I’ve read that it has to do with solar grenades and other perks like explosive rounds and firefly. I had a sword disappear Tuesday to find out my buddy firefly’d a thrull right next to a dropped sword. This doesn’t confirm anything…… but it does happen so I would just point that out. Pay attention. If you find your sword is disappearing too much try to look at gun/grenade perks. At the end of the day just ghally and/or snipe the swordbearer. Or have a stormlock run down there and super the whole area so you can get your super while running the sword. You can run off the ledge or not run off the ledge. It’s important to know where you can stand and where not to stand. If he is already close to your edge you might need to run off to the rocks. But yeah, if he is further away you may be able to stay on the platform. In year one he was super aggressive but seems to be more chill this time around. Remember that if you stand on the platform you are more vulnerable to being aggro’d by the boomers. So take that into consideration. Bubble in the doorway is probably not the best placement. You normally want to bubble further up the bridge to draw more attention from the boomers. While they will shoot at it in the doorway if your guardians are in front of the bubble (which I’m assuming) the boomers can shoot them instead. Also, depending on their placement they might be looking towards crota and won’t even see your bubble. This is why placing it further up will have a higher chance of drawing their attention. Also, I would recommend against killing the boomers. What most teams struggle with is focusing on killing the swordbearer quickly enough (they just assume the sword runner will do it). You should run out, drop a bubble, and then the WHOLE team should be calling out the swordbearer. If you have two people sniping knights that’s two people not focused on what really needs to occur. Sure, 1 person can do it…….. but that 1 person can also help kill the swordbearer. Remember. Not everyone is going to have full rockets, or full sniper (and sniping the sword is a little more risky because you’ll need to be more exposed to crota and the boomers) so making sure everyone is on the same page with taking down the sword is more important. Better teams have to worry about this less. But not all fireteams are great and some players will just run out and get into position to shoot Ghally at crota……not providing any help with others task. Just something to be aware of. I would also question the slam amounts. I feel like this was a hot topic in year one with 12 slams or 11 slams. I have never in my clears slammed him 12 times and NOT had him enrage. Reading thru reddit confirms this BUT also supports 12 slams. 12 slams DOES have the POTENTIAL of enraging him. And at the end of the day the extra slam is not needed. So I don’t push past 11 now. 11 slams still gives the last swordbearer 4 plus a small slash to kill……or 5 slams. Which is very easy to achieve. So I would just make note of that moving forward. I can’t speak for other teams and I’m sure 12 slams is fine for some people…… but I also think it is really hard for people to admit when they don’t get 3 slams and that in reality they actually get 2 on one rotation and claim 3. I had to clarify this a NUMBER of times when our runner came back and was like “got 3 slams guys” and I was quick to correct him “no, you only got 2, that last slam was late”. Don’t mean to crap on the original post. I think it had some great information. Just some minor points that may need clarification. At the end of the day every team is a little different so you have to be aware of what is working and what isn’t.

Cannot confirm or deny the presence of a solar grenade there. Interesting hypothesis though. [quote]Bubble in the doorway is probably not the best placement. In the doorway is a waste of a perfectly good bubble. Lol. [quote]Also, I would recommend against killing the boomers. I value tier 12 over 400. I stopped doing WotM after a couple of weeks so I have a shortage of 400 chests and boots for infusion. Based on our other two runs, I do feel like 11 or 12 is more accurate. [quote]Don’t mean to crap on the original post. I think it had some great information. These were quick observations I made based on our first run Tuesday night. They may not be 100% accurate because obviously you can't see everything at once. But these were the methods we used last night as well and we had 0 problems outside of a sword running Warlock jumping INTO Crota's platform instead of on top of it. Many jokes were made. 😂

  • Oh ok, bubble on the circle. Sorry, I read that as it was in the doorway. I think someone else must have posted his team dropped it in the doorway. Yeah, in the circle or on the bridge seems to be enough to aggro the boomers. Haha, the Warlock jump can def run into some issues……. In year 1 the blade was the preferred method for most people because of invis. But now that we have to run off the platform I REALLY like the warlock jump. It feels so smooth to me and I think I get to Crota faster on that class than any other. BUT I had a buddy run sword on his warlock and was bumping into everything and floating way up into the sky. I understand It can def be a struggle.

The only thing I've done a bit different is whole team stacks up on right side door, Hunter nightstalker throws invis on whole team, everyone runs out and titan pops his bubble about halfway up the walkway between the door and Crota , step out behind bubble w/ ur blessings on , kill swordbearer quick, take Crota down twice then Celestial Nighthawk one shots oversoul and everyone hauls back into door we came out of with the blessing just wearing off.. Works perfect every time as long as guys don't move around shooting rockets behind the bubble . This method u don't have to take out the boomers at all and Crota usually focuses his fire on the bubble and not the sword runner on the rock at all . And if u want u can always snipe one boomer if he's bugging u but it's not necessary with this method if ur bubble placement is good. There's a few other methods out there with weapons bubble on the rock and tethering him but that's for raid teams not for basic Lfg type runs where guys don't have every exotic armor and weapon at their disposal in the game like some teams do. This is basic for anyone with a Titan and hunter on their team to go out and do pretty easily. I've finished both challenge on all three of my characters with Lfg and I've found this method the easiest to do with randoms and people who aren't super familiar with this raid like some of us are
