Linking 3 ps4s to same network via arris ps4s router

Problem: three ps4s will not join up in fireteam in the same house/Network. Have put up with this for a year. after reading some topics and suggestions in the forums , I tried to enable upnp on my arris 589 router from art only to discover it did not have it. Went out and got the netgear 2000 and proceeded to setup as access point only to find out that upnp, port forwarding, and any other possible solution was disabled while using netgear router as access point. Turned off arris wireless after trying to disable AP Protocol as I still could not link up mine and my wife's consoles. I'm still having to reset everything every time we and my brother want to play destiny together. Anyone with any suggestions please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I'm just figuring out that the arris router modem combo does not have a simple bridge mode. Trying to find the right steps to do that now

The arris 589 is a gateway, aka a combo modem/router. In order to use your netgear as a router, and not be "double NAT", you must put your 589 in bridge mode, which will make it function as a modem only. You would then connect your netgear to it and configure it as a router, and enable UPnP.

    • Hi Rustonian. Sorry to hear about the troubles. What you may be experiencing is a local networking issue that Bungie has been investigating. This issue is preventing some players on local networks from forming Fireteams with eachother. While they continue to dig to the root cause, it's recommended that impacted players continue to utilize the universal plug and play, and to avoid manual port-forwarding as it may negatively affect your ability to join other players. More information about this issue can be found here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/210723595?sort=0&page=0&path=1 Here is the latest update from This Week at Bungie:
We are actively testing a proposed solution to an issue where players on a local network are unable to form a Fireteam. The proposed fix is somewhat complex in nature, as the changes would revise systems in place that all Destiny players use to form Fireteams with each other, or join matches. While this could solve the issue for some, it may introduce additional issues that would impact a larger population of the Destiny player base. As such, we are testing the proposed solution thoroughly to prevent further issues from being introduced. In the case that this issue is not resolved by the proposed fix, or additional issues are found through testing, we will continue to pursue alternative solutions in hopes of addressing the Local Network Fireteam Issues. Additional updates on the investigation will be provided when possible. https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/45688/7_This-Week-at-Bungie--02232017
