So I've been playing since the beta and I never really had any major issues with bad connection to the game, other than the random error codes everyone gets every now and again. So yesterday when I logged on to play some Trials, I got a wonderful message that said I was restricted from Crucible for 1 week and Trials for 2 weeks. It said I 'constantly have a bad connection that is negatively affecting other players.' What is this crap??? It's ridiculous... what am I supposed to do?

Edited by Kell of Kellogs: 10/30/2016 8:39:05 PMHey myBACONwill, There is nothing you can do to lift your restriction. Please read the Destiny Account Restrictions and Banning Policies for more details. They will not discuss, dispute, or overturn bans or restrictions under any circumstances. Since you're just restricted, thankfully it's temporary and you have time to make your connection more stable. For starters, if you're using Wifi, please switch to a hard wired connection. 3 RepliesEdited by jnikoley: 11/1/2016 6:04:29 PMThe nine consecutive victories on October 28th in Trials of Osiris that you had with your hunter were due to the other team losing its fire team members before the match could finish. That is the likely cause of your restriction. This is often what you see when there is someone using a DOS attack to kick players on the other team. I believe this is the case here. I immediately recognized one of the gamer tags on your team and had already researched him thoroughly. He is one of the most severe abusers I have found when it comes to opponents somehow magically losing their connection. In nearly every single ToO match he is in, his opponents loose connection. I and others have reported him, but he has yet to receive a restriction or a ban. I would guess that he offered you a guaranteed lighthouse trip in exchange for a fee. If this is true and to make amends, say so, but don't stop at that. Report him to bungie. You can report him using bungies online report form found here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13967 That said, keep in mind that conducting a DOS attack or being an accomplice, is not only cheating, but a criminal offense. You should take this very seriously and consider yourself extremely lucky to have only received a temporary restriction. Edit: If there is a mod that reads this, and gives two shits, pm me. I will forward you the gamertag of the DoSer. No one has to know. Same goes for Bungie. I am aware of 20 confirmed DoSers. I will provide the names. You know how to reach me, but I expect to only hear crickets chirping. Prove me wrong.

Hey there, In Destiny, there are 2 ways Bungie addresses Users that show misconduct. This is through Account Bans and Restrictions. Account Restrictions are temporary, while Bans are permanent. Bungie does not discuss or dispute either of them. Please keep in mind that Poor or Unstable Internet Connection does qualify for a Restriction or even Ban in serious instances. All relevant information can be found here: https://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Account-Restrictions-and-Banning-Policies/en/Help/Article/11929 Hope this helps! Edited by ADragonWithin: 10/30/2016 8:00:10 PMWhat are you supposed to do? Wait out the restriction. That's really all you can do. There's no contending it or trying to get it overturned or reduced. As far as how to avoid it; if you have a history of bad connection to others in PvP and enough people report you for it, you'll be put on such a restriction. Simple reports won't do it; they get reports then they check your actual information, then they decide whether or not to restrict. Do note that 'speed' doesn't equate to 'good' when it comes to your internet connection.
