So I got my Last Word around 2 weeks ago and have been using it with a sniper exclusively in PvP lately. It's arguably one of the best primaries in the game at close quarters. I want to know what the community thinks about this gun.
Let's keep in mind that not everybody that has TLW uses it, or knows how to use it.
Most of what I say after this is assuming you do not have or pull out a special weapon.
The gun melts people at its optimal range, however, getting outside of fusion rifle range will be very dangerous.
"Tapping" the weapon can help. But considering most players don't feel comfortable hip firing at such distances, they will probably ADS, making the gun bounce even more than what it would at such a range that would terrify the average Last Word user. Thus making almost any hand cannon more reliable at that range.
The gun is difficult to control even at year 1 god roll shotgun ranges IF you ADS, and that will happen a lot due to it being a habit. You will eventually master the gun and know when and when not to ADS.
The gun is very fun to use assuming you can hit your shots. It feels very unique among other hand cannons and can be used to counter shotgun meta (By "meta" I meant that it can defy the rising usage of UR and other shotguns). Baiting a shotgunner and then mowing them down with this gun is very satisfying.
After being nerfed with the April update, I think it's in very good spot and seems to be more balanced than it ever was (assuming you never had it, you know what I'm talking about).
What do you think? What was your experience with this gun? What do you appreciate about it?

What is your opinion on this gun?

I like TLW before it's nerf, and I still like it. No it's not because I have no gun skill, I can prove this by the Byronic hero I use with my panta rhei, it's my favorite setup honestly. But I believe the biggest reason for its nerf was it's potential to 2-tap low armor guardians. This took practice, but really wasn't too hard to accomplish. My proposal? Return the exotic perk to how it was before, with the bonus damage from the hip, leave the range and stability as is, I think it's honestly good there, remove aggressive Ballistics, this was what gave TLW the potential to 2-tap, replace it with maybe a range increasing perk? Like smooth Ballistics or something else. Throw in a new way to use the gun. Maybe increase the range by +10 ish? I'm not to good with recognizing stat numbers, but increase the range to where it's noticeable but now OP, maybe half the range of eyasluna with rifled barrel, at the cost of a little stability. More range, less stability, actually usable from the hip, make it more reliable, but not too much more powerful than it is. Still a three shot kill, even with all headshots, but more damage.
