The main reason they were removed is because they made burn activities too easy. It's simple, just scale them and make them harder! Don't remove a big aspect of the weapons in this game.

False, the reason they were removed is because Bungie believed that they limited the variety of weapons people used, which is complete bs because people used plenty of non-elemental burn weapons.
-
But they're still easy though...

To that I say so what? It was fun to burn through a solar burn nightfall with VoC, Black Hammer, Gally, or an arc burn with Fatebringer, Found Verdict, Thunderlord, or a void burn with WoC, Praedyth's Revenge/Swordbreaker, Corrective Measures. To me that was more fun than slogging through a bullet sponge. Moreover, I grinded my ass off to have those weapons, why shouldn't I be able to use them to slap a nightfall in the face?

They were removed because night fall and other hard activities required elemental primaries to complete it. People who didn't have elemental primaries cried because the stuff was too hard. Its meant to be hard it end game.

You're advocating making bullet sponges with one hit kills with that. Scale the mobs up and they'd be what, level 44? Level 45? Anyone WITHOUT elemental primaries would be boned. Ask a solo player in the Division how increasing mob health and damage to deal with damage output worked out. (Hint: poorly.)

Or, make the chance of getting them less, but maybe increase armour drops (so you at least get that side to max light quicker as a trade off), along with ghosts etc. Alternatively, have elemental and non elemental weapons instead of normal and harrowed. Elementals only drop in gard mode, and aren't guaranteed, you could still get normal version.
