There is a new loot mechanic being implemented in Rise of Iron. Strikes will now have a chance to drop Skeleton Keys. Skeleton keys are used to open chests at the end of every strike. Basically every strike boss that can drop strike specific loot like the DarkBlade, a chest will spawn after defeating them that can be opened with a skeleton key to earn guaranteed loot from that boss.
Also the strike bosses coming back in RoI are Sepiks, now SIVA themed and called 'Sepiks Perfected'. And Phogoth, coming back as 'Hive Abomination', crummy name I know but I guess he will just be more mutated.
EDIT: Added video, fixed info

8 RepliesEdited by awphyline.: 8/3/2016 11:53:35 PMThis is cool, however I'm guessing the skeleton key will be randomly dropped from strikes, correct? Therefor, wouldn't I just be the same chances of getting the exclusive gear there and then without the key or chest (how it works now) except this time you can decide which strike to attain the loot from. So really the only thing that's different is we get to choose where our loot comes from.

I wonder what will be specific loot from those two strikes. They didn't have it before. Would be nice to introduce something nice.

I absolutely love this idea.

3 RepliesSource? This sounds cool but I'm not believing it unless I see a source...

I'm guessing this is meant to be a "fix" to all the Omnigul farming we've done.

I wonder how atrocious the drop rates of Skeleton keys are gonna be, no doubt a source of much complaining on the forums!

Hmmm bump

1 ReplyReminds me of Neverwinter; there's a chest at the end of every dungeon and if you wanted to open it with a key, you'd get the extra loot on top of getting loot from the boss.

I saw that they can still drop the loot, plus the chest spawns and you get guarenteed loot if you spend your key. So obviously save keys for the strikes you want specific gear from
