So, as most of you know, in Year 1 we had an option on most Legendary Weapons to "Reforge" the Weapon. What this means is that you were, generally speaking, able to re-roll a Weapons perks, and you could keep doing this until you ran out of materials or got a roll that you liked. And as we all know, we no longer have the option to do so.
Admittedly, this "Reforge" option broke the balance of the game. It was very cheap to do, meaning, again, you would most likely have the materials to re-roll a Weapon as many times as you wanted. I have a solution to this problem, so here it is!
"Reforge" Reforged ~
Introduced with the Rise Of Iron DLC, there will be a new option on Legendary Weapons known as "Reforge Ready". With this option, you will be able to essentially re-roll a Weapon's perks. But wait, there's more! There's a hefty price tag for an option as powerful as this. I will go into detail below with the different choices (or mistakes! lol) you can make, and how much those choices will cost!
Option 1: This choice will "Reforge" the Weapon completely. This encompasses the sights, the first set perk, the middle perk tree, the second set perk, and the Elemental Damage for Special and Heavy Weapons. Selecting this option will cost the following amount of Materials/Currency; 40 Motes of Light, 50 Weapon Parts, 5 Telemetries for that Weapon's respective class, and 25,000 Glimmer. (And you thought it would be cheap!)
WARNING ~ The options after this point are kinda iffy, so just be advised they are no longer a part of the main post!
Option 2:
This choice will Reforge the Weapons Sights, and just that. The Sights include all the Sights available for that Weapon class. Selecting this option will cost the following amount of Materials/Currency; 5 Motes of Light, 5 Weapon Parts, a single Telemetry for that Weapon's respective class, and 2,000 Glimmer.
Option 3:
This option will Reforge the Weapon's first set perk. This encompasses all available set perks for that slot in each Weapon's respective class. Selecting this option will cost the following amount of Materials/Currency; 15 Motes of Light, 20 Weapon Parts, 3 Telemetries for that Weapon's respective class, and 7,500 Glimmer.
Option 4:
This option will Reforge the Weapon's middle perk tree. This encompasses all available mid-tree perks for that Weapon's respective class. Selecting this option will cost the following amount of Materials/Currency; 10 Motes of Light, 15 Weapon Parts, 2 Telemetries for that Weapon's respective class, and 5,000 Glimmer.
Option 5:
This option will Reforge the Weapon's final set perk. This encompasses all available final set perks for that Weapon's respective class. Selecting this option will cost the following amount of Materials/Currency; 15 Motes of Light, 20 Weapon Parts, 3 Telemetries for that Weapon's respective class, and 7,500 Glimmer.

So, how'd you like them apples? All criticism is welcome in the comments below. If you agree, tell me why! If you disagree, let me know what you would do differently and why, or why you wouldn't want it at all if that's the case! Please try to be as civilized as possible with me and your fellow guardians. Please don't be rude or hateful in the comments, as you will be muted and reported, and I would recommend you, the reader, to do the same.

Edit: Well, Bungie banned this account from replying to this topic, so I don't know if this edit will even show up. As much as I would love to talk to all of you, it simply is no longer possible. Just know that if you posted an idea or feedback, I will see it and take it into consideration! It was great getting to talk with all of you again! Thanks to all!
Edit 2: I can still edit the post! Since I can, here's an alternative.
I and another guardian seem to have thought of another alternative to the main idea, so here it is!
Reforge V2 ~
Once a week, on that oh-so-special day when we can feel the god rolls in the air, you will have the chance to Reforge a Weapon you love. It will completely re-roll all the perks, and Elemental damage if it applies. Weapons from Raids, Trials of Osiris, and Iron Banner will not have this option. This option will cost the following Materials/Currency; 25 Legendary Marks, 15 Motes of Light, 25 Weapon Parts, 2 Telemetries of that Weapon's respective class, and 10,500 Glimmer.
Bungo can't even properly update the update from the previous updates correct. Now you want them to include this great idea of yours? Now you're asking for too much.

3 RepliesIt's only the special snowflakes that got lucky with a godroll that don't want reforging.
-
1 ReplyBefore her death Mrs Cleo told me not to read anything stupid. Scrolling through, what I can only assume to be garbage, up above, she nailed it! She was real!!
-
Nah it's good how it is now
-
Only if it costs 250 legendary marks and 10,000,000 silver.
-
Nah , Reforging took the fun out of getti g weapons
-
1 ReplyNo. Just no.
-
4 RepliesReroll a weapon for 150 marks Boom problem solved Because we can buy them for that anyway
-
-
No thank you. I'm glad every other post isn't: Bungie we need more weapon parts. Bungie we need more motes of light. Let alone people sit their for hours just to get a roll they want, it's kind of sad in my opinion.
-
Would much rather have an "Armsday" approach. Give the gunsmith your gun for the week and next Wednesday he gives you 3 random rolls of it. You can choose to not pick any and go more weeks for more rolls. This is costly in time, and only allows one gun per character a week, making reforging not nearly as crazy

I would replace the legendary engrams on the heroic strikes with some material like etheric light. To reforge a weapon completely, use this material, 15 materials, 10 weapon parts, and 5 notes of light. This said material would be in the loot table for nightfall, heroic, and the raid, so it will be fairly hard to acquire. It would have about a 20-27% drop rate in nightfall, 10-15% in VG heroic, and depends on the raid rewards in ROI

2 RepliesDidnt waste my time reading. They did that a bit for iron banner. Never gonna happen on regular drops.
-
If they brought it back it should change everything except the last perk and 2 scopes

I read upto rerolling in y1 was broken. Than couldn't take the rest seriously. Re-rolling was never OP. It was balanced. Everyone could do it - the only pre-requisite was having a legendary, the motes of light and materials and some glimmer. It was only claims to be OP by the streaming community, because, out of nowhere, everyone was rocking hyper competitive loadouts. Streamers did not like this as it became harder for them to stream stuff that maintained their I'm great at this game ego's. Bungie reinforced this, by hopping on the bandwagon, when the real reason for the removal of reforge was it was bleeding playtime, thus players, and ultimately the cash from the first year of a financial business deal between bungie and Activision (often referred to as the 10 year plan, and more often confused with the idea that the destiny franchise will go on for ten years), where the payout is relative to player numbers.

2 RepliesEdited by NerdFame: 7/28/2016 12:41:03 AMI understand people liked it but no matter how many different iterations it'll still be game breaking. A game especially this game doesn't need this it ruins the experience of getting a great drop. When you get that drop it's exciting and if you don't get that drop you can try it before scrapping it and waiting again.

2 RepliesI think reforging a gun in year one didn't work. Although I'm glad it's gone, the problem is the rng in the game sucks, so some people only get 1 shot at a gun they want, or never get it. I got one Shadow Price in year 2 with absolutely horrible perks, so it's gone. So to me, they need to make the rng a bit easier, or bring back reforging to a much lesser extent. Either: 1. Give option on rank up packages to choose a weapon package or a armor package. This would increase your chance of getting that gun you want, by taking all of those stupid boots out of the loot table. I uh, I always get boots...... or 2. Make reforging a weekly event. You pay marks and hand your gun to the gunsmith. 1 gun per character per week. On arms day, you see what you got. Like it, great. Don't, you can do it again and wait a week. This would prevent everyone from having the same roll, but once you got that gun you wanted, that came with stupid rolls, at least you'd have a shot at getting a better version of it.

9 RepliesWhy don't you all stop this? Bungie themselves said they didn't like this
-
4 RepliesSomeone is going to have to explain to me how everyone rolling weapons to have the same perks "breaks" the game. It seems to me like if everyone has the opportunity to use the same weapons and perks, that would be the most balanced the game can be. The way it sits now, only a small percentage of people get to experience "god rolls" on some weapons. How is that fair and balanced for the people who can't get it to drop? Reforging is the best shot this game has at balance, because it gives everyone the same chance to get great perks. If some perks are clearly better than others, then that is the problem that needs addressed, not Reforging.
-
Or... just make like the Gunsmith weapons. 50 legendary marks = three full random rolls available the following week.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Unicronic: 7/28/2016 3:20:20 AMThe best way to handle reforging is to allow you to infuse perks. Example: You get a Longbow from a Crucible Package but it has dumb perks like Guerrilla Fighter and has scopes you don't want. You also get a Tao Hua Yuan with shortgaze. You can infuse shortgaze from Tao Hua Yuan into your Longbow and the former is destroyed in the process. You can only reforge a perk column three times before that column is locked for good.
-
Where's the tl;dr?
-
How about a reforge costs are just like they used be but with a catch. You can only reforge fully leveled weapons and the weapon leveling resets to unleveled when you reforge it.
-
4 RepliesI want reforging but it shouldn't be as rigid and pricey as op proposes.
-
1 ReplyAnother one of these people begging for reforging. Just mute and report me now, save me the trouble.
-
3 RepliesI really miss re-rolling, but I can see why they don't want to bring it back. The same thing would happen, ppl would roll until they got the God roll on whatever gun they wanted. So the truth is yet again it's mainly crucible balancing why they got rid of it in the first place. Which irritates me beyond measure.
