You have no idea how pumped I am for dreams, I have so many ideas already of what I want to create. That game is going to something special and can't wait to see what the community comes up with.

Quantico dreams Game is called detroit: being human. It's based off the Kara demo, and the main character looks like Jennifer lawrence. I'm also curious and to what Sony bend is making. They haven't made anything since uncharted golden abyss for vita.

Edited by Psychic Donuts: 5/28/2016 4:52:33 PM
after Sony dropped Shenmue III, The Last Guardian, and FFVII Remake in the same year
None of these are coming out anytime soon. Do you mean Horizon as in Forza Horizon 3 or Horizon as in the robot killzone dinosaurs game.

Edited by Tartan 118: 5/28/2016 5:16:18 PMHorizon: Zero Dawn As for those other titles, they still contributed to a near-legendary E3. And now we know they're coming.
-
Near legendary? You mean that Sony's E3 was legendary? It was so game deprived compared to Microsoft's. That being said they did show FF7 which excited but one or two good games isn't nearly enough to match Microsoft's. They will have to pick up the pace a little.

MS's show: H5 - meh Recore - looks great Backwards compatibility - also great Elite controller - don't care Fallout 4 - awesome EA - snore Forza 6 - snore DSIII - wasn't interested then, but it had sweet art The Division - lolz Indie stuff like Cuphead - looks pretty cool RotTomb Raider - looking good Rare Replay - yes please Sea of Thieves - arrr/10 Fable Lolgends - Lolgendary AR Minecraft - cool, but I don't care about Meinkraft Gears Ultimate Edition - the first in the series was the worst, so meh Gears 4 - what they showed looked pretty much the same as every other Gears, so I wasn't very hooked 8/10, I reckon. Sony: The Last Guardian - holy shit, it's alive/10 Horizon: Zero Dawn - crossbow-wielding cavefolk hunting robot dinosaurs and it all looks gorgeous Hitman and SFV - not bothered No Man's Sky - looking as mind-blowing as ever Dreams - you can build anything Firewatch - looks cool, haven't picked it up yet Destiny TTK - looked great and I love it AC Syndicate - wasn't interested, after Unity FF whatever it was - get off the stage, please FFVII Remake - holy shit, it's real/10 Shenmue III - holy shit, it's coming/10 Arkham Knight - well, that trailer was cool. But alas, the game itself I found pretty disappointing VR and PS Vue - don't care (not without a killer app for VR) Black Ops III - seriously, Activision, give us Destiny or give us death Star Wars stuff - didn't care about Infinity, BF looked nice enough but I wasn't fully sold Uncharted 4 - holy crap, Drake is smashing through a gorgeous favella-esque town (after a brief standing nap) Tenouttaten. Okay, maybe a 9 if we want to get technical, because there was some uninteresting stuff in there. But yeah. Sony more than made up for it with three megaton announcements and a number of great showings for other cool games.

Can't really agree with much of your Sony post. Horizon and ff7 were the only things that looked good

Edited by Psychic Donuts: 5/31/2016 2:38:44 PMMicrosoft showed off a lot of big things and Sony showed off a few enormous things. For me, showing more is more important than showing some.
-
Edited by Tartan 118: 5/31/2016 2:43:13 PMSo... Quantity over quality? I count 7 things that I had a positive reaction to on my MS list. Let me check Sony... Nine.

Edited by Psychic Donuts: 5/31/2016 3:05:02 PMThat is to you. Microsoft showed every game that an old Xbox user wants, Gears, Halo, Forza, Fable, and new IPs. Those and backwards compatibility. Sony showed FF7, U4, Shemnue 3, and Last Guardian. Other than that they were things we had already seen or things that weren't coming out until 2017/2018 with a few exceptions. Everything Microsoft showed off was set to come out that year or the next year. To me, they had more things coming out soon and now. Sony was reaching years out for trailers and content.
That is to you.
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
Microsoft showed every game that an old Xbox user wants, Gears, Halo, Forza, Fable
I've had an Xbox since 2002. Not every user wants the same four franchises year-in, year-out. Part of the reason I became so disillusioned with MS towards the end of the last generation - they fed us almost nothing but those series and Kinect for years on end. The only other notable exclusives I can see around that time are Alan Wake (which I didn't like anyway), and Crackdown 2, which nobody liked. The only successful new IP that MS held onto was Gears. But it's good to see Crackdown coming back.
new IPs
Yes, Recore and Sea of Thieves look great.
Those and backwards compatibility.
Also a high point for the MS show.
Sony showed FF7, U4, Shemnue 3, and Last Guardian. Other than that they were things we had already seen or things that weren't coming out until 2017/2018 with a few exceptions.
Yeah. Sony didn't have a great deal of exclusives at the end of last year. But they still showed cooler games.
Everything Microsoft showed off was set to come out that year or the next year. To me, they had more things coming out soon and now. Sony was reaching years out for trailers and content.
Problem was that MS's content was pretty underwhelming, regardless of release window. Of those big four MS series you mentioned, none of them blew me away at E3, and only Rise of the Tomb Raider looked potentially great of those five flagship titles in the opening montage. One of which has since been cancelled. And another a remaster.

These titles don't release every year. The last Gears was judgment in 2013 (3 years), the last Halo was 2012 (3 years), and the last was 2010 (6 years) but it got shut down due to development issues. Not only that, but Microsoft showed Recore, Scalebound, and Sea of Theives. All new IPs set to come out in a year or so. Most every game that Sony showed wasn't coming out until 3 to 4 years later. I loved the games that both of them showed but Microsoft was showing us games that are coming soon and they have already talked about new IPs being shown this year too.
