I know the third subclasses are nothing new and i know there is no changing them BUT just for hypothetical game discussion id like to ask what you think about how i personally would change the subclasses.
I feel class roles are a little wonky right now because each class doesn't feel like it plays as individualistically as they should so i would design it like this....
1. ONLY 2 SUBCLASSES PER CHARACTER
- one subclass would be offense and one would be team based support
2. HUNTER
- offense - Gunslinger.
I feel gunslinger is a very hunter-esque special with a moderate kill potential as you only get 3 shots (4 if you choose that exotic path)
- team support - Nightstalker.
Tether is a great support idea with the plethora of orbs it drops and the damage it does when combined with the support of an entire teams focused attacks
3. WARLOCK
- offense - Voidwalker
Voidwalker, like gunslinger, has a bit of range and a moderate kill potential as it requires enemies to huddle together
- team support - Sunsinger
I would however modify sunsinger. It would no longer be a self resurrection ability but rather a team res ability where, when activated, the worlock would be able to instantly revive all teammates with a set distance like 20 meters or something.
4. TITAN
- offense - Striker
Striker also has a moderate kill capacity requiring mobs to group up but also allows for the quick, instant overtake of an area.
- team support - Defender
I would of course leave the dirty bubble untouched. Every fire team needs a dirt bubble. It allows for both team shields or a team damage increase while providing an area of safety.
Conclusion!
I chose those specific offensive subclasses because none of them allow a player to run around from one end of a pvp map to the other end killing everything in their path and if you aren't in pvp, i personally believe you should be using team support sublasses anyway. The team support classes i chose would make each class individually useful and would work well together giving each class an individual role again.
I just think this would be a balanced way of doing it in MY PERSONAL HYPOTHETICAL destiny.
LEMME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK AND THANKS FOR THE READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
