Bungie - Have an Idea Regarding Reforge/Reroll

This is a video game after all, we should be able to have our cake and eat it too. On the way home from work I was thinking about how recently I've gotten some weapon drops I was looking for, but with shit rolls. While there's nothing quite like FINALLY getting that weapon drop with the perk/stat rolls you WANT.... the inverse is a very NEGATIVE disappointment when you get that drop with shit perks (and Bungie, seriously, you've got some SERIOUSLY shitty perks available). Man, there must be some way to balance this out right? Now, I was NOT a big fan of the HoW weapon reforge system. I mean shit man, it was unlimited rolls as long as you had the materials to grind it out and hit the RNG casino like a mad man. It took the grind to a place I didn't particularly like... engram farming for weapon parts and various grind/material exchange for Motes of Light. Getting the necessary materials didn't exactly promote fun play. SO, here's my suggestion. Allow for a SINGLE item re-roll once a week. This can include weapons OR armor. The re-roll, whether it be a "ticket", consumable, or even a buff would be based on completion/performance of an in game activity with certain modifiers/criteria. A random one would be selected EACH week. For Example: - Complete Kings Fall with X amount of precision kills - Complete Nightfall within a certain timeframe - Complete Trials of Osiris Gold Package Bounty - Complete all weekly bounties and Points achievements in CoE And to keep things fair, rotate in matchmaking activities 50% of the time: - Complete 5 Heroic Vanguard strikes in a row with fewer than 5 deaths - Complete all Weekly Crucible Bounties and 50% of Daily Crucible Bounties Ect... you know, the possibilities are really endless here. Completing the weekly task will give you a buff or ticket consumable that allows you to select ONE legendary item, and re-roll it a maximum of 20 times to try for the roll you're looking for. You don't make it, well tough shit, you've got to wait until next week. For one thing it'll make people think twice about rerolling an almost perfect roll with one oddball perk since the rerolls are limited. I think this method would satisfy most folks want/need for a reforge system. It would also keep die-hards from simply grinding/buying their way into a complete god roll set of gear within a short amount of time, putting the more casual folks at a distinct disadvantage. AND, perhaps equally as importantly, it'll PROMOTE end game content play and it won't leave folks who only matchmake completely out in the cold. I think I would like this system. How about you guys? Any suggestions/variations? If so, please like or bump so that Bungie see it! EDIT 1: As stated on a reply below, we need to be realistic regarding this. Bungie isn't jut going to GIVE us reforge/reroll a la HoW era. And I don't think they're going to use a similar system in HoW but with higher cost. The only way I think we'll get reforge back is to come up with a system that is mutually beneficial. My idea promotes gameplay of in-game activities, would not be a monotonous grind to achieve, actual reward would be equitable, and would limit the reforge system so that it would not be a crap situation of try-hards only with God Rolls. EDIT 2: Bungie could even use this system to promote play of left-behind content. - Complete VOG with Aetheon and Templar kills - Complete a Skolas Run with fewer than 3 deaths - Complete Phogoth, Nexus, and Vanilla Winter's Run strikes - Complete Crota with.... and so on..

You should be able to infuse perks just like lightlvl. That way you still need to grind for a weapon with the perk youre looking for but you would be able to infuse it into another weapon. The gun you used for infusion gets destroyed, and doesnt affect the lightlvl of your equiped weapon, just the perk.
