  • No. Every single atheist doesn't Believe what they are told. The whole point of being atheist is the skepticism of religion and NOT believing what family tells us. Here is how stupid religion is.. A person is dying and people are praying for him.. If he gets better, then everyone says it was gods will If he gets worse, everyone says god is giving him time to repent. If he dies, everyone says god wanted him Literally even if this person lived or died, religious people will assume god had a hand in it.

  • I don't think that way bro... But anyways, my point is that I can start a genocide and say I did it for my religion to get more people on my side, my comfy religion, and at the end I know they would blame God for my actions. Did I really do it for God or my religion? Of course not, my reasons were prob getting more power, having control of the masses and all that, but God had nothing to do with it, and still just because I bring God in suddenly everyone things I'm saying the truth XD that I killed all those people because of religion, maybe all those guys were Atheist pretending to be religious people, or maybe they just didn't care, people can lie you know, and they actually do all the time. Also many religions start not because of God but because man tries to gain power out of it :/

  • Everybody lies at some point of their lives, some lie more than others. In this case, we cannot trust all those who said God was their reason for doing evil things... at least I would.

  • Stalin? The whole godless Soviet Union who despised religion because it was an opiate of the masses and undermined worship of the government.

It wasnt because of atheism. It was to make sure communism stayed in power. Edit: you even said it yourself. If somehow religion wouldnt mess with the ideals of communism they wouldnt have touched it. But how many times in history has someone uprised because god told them to. Hell americans did it exploring the western frontier with their holy mandate

Hell americans did it exploring the western frontier with their holy mandate[/quote] First, I fail to see the difference between that and modern militaristic atheism which wants to ban religion because of x,y, z. The same as USSR not believing in god and wanting to ban religion for undermining power. Second, great twisted victim blaming. If religion wouldn't be so influential, we wouldn't have had to commit genocide against them. "That woman wouldn't have been -blam!- if she hadn't worn such provocative clothing." Atheism, like any other religious, political, etc. group, has the potential for corruption and a desire to spread and maintain itself, and, when taken to extremes, can commit atrocities.
