Alright guys and girls, here is the deal, I have been posting of a few Trials Flawless Sherpa posts. I have a pretty high KD, a good medal score, and have been flawless almost 50 times. This attracted lots of people to reply to me.
I told them to all PM me and we could work out details, but after awhile I started getting hate messages from either "Elitists" or people who have tried and failed many times at Flawless. The messages said things like
"You're a scrub for doing carries, everyone needs to earn the Lighthouse with people on skill levels as themselves. If they have a 0.6, they play with maybe 0.8s and 0.7s. Stop doing carries, it's ruining trials"
Personally I think that everyone should have the chance to see the light of mercury at least once, no matter the skill level of the player.
What do you guys think of trials carries?
Discuss freely!
EDIT - If anyone wants to see mercury send GraffitiDrifter a friend request on Xbox One. I have about 50 lighthouse visits.

1 ReplyI suppose its a good thing if you do it for free. If you are poor at the game, as I am, then you are pretty much carried for all end game content, but by friends. So arguably it is no different. It could be considered bad because it should be something to brag about by all who have done it.

1 ReplyEdited by OriginalMrDave: 2/9/2016 9:18:12 AMDoes it matter? If you're playing trials and you get knocked out by a team clearly being carried by one person you don't deserve to go flawless. And they might get some decent loot? Again does it matter? The only time you'll ever face them when the light of their new gun matters is trials and IB which if they're as bad as you think you should beat them anyway? Unless people are using unfair mans to cheat people to the lighthouse then I have no problem with it.

1 ReplyIndeed, being a Sherpa is an amazing way of giving back to the community, unless it comes with strings attached (ex. monetary compensation, required twitch/twitter follow, etc.)
-
1 ReplyEdited by ExelArts: 2/9/2016 6:23:54 AMPeople need a reason to feel special in this game trials emblems was that, that's why they complain about it. I think your doing a great deed to your gaming community, in fact I never really needed help getting there but I wouldn't mind getting back to the lighthouse to try and get an adapt water star or doctrine so I could use the help

Eh I see both points. I do think carrying people who have really bad kds ruin trials. It's meant as the hardest thing to do in pvp, only the best are suppose to go ETC. But I'm also a nice guy, so I really do think you guys are awesome for doing it. If I was better at the game i would try to carry people too honestly.

Hey check out this sweet snipe video. This dude has skills. http://youtu.be/E14YUmewSiY

Looking for a quick trials bounties. GT BCovaWantTo23

I sherpa for KF alot, it's fun helping new players get through it. Back when I was a scrubby PvE new player, I spent a long time trying to find raid teams finally found some and get CE and VoG done. Now, I help others because no one will help them get through. However, PvP wise, I'm still trash. So it's hard to get a team for ToO, friends don't even run ToO because it's too sweaty for them. So I can't ever find a team to run ToO except randoms to do bounties.

Lol it's cool I suppose until you come up against them honestly I think they should move players that have went flawless to a separate bracket for the week.
-
2 RepliesAs long as they aren't charging for Lighthouse runs, I don't think there's anything wrong with Trials Sherpas. They get to do a good deed and make someone else's day. Whats wrong with that?
-
1 ReplyYou're like the guardian speaker for the community. -blam!- those people that hate on your obvious badass skills.

12 RepliesNot sure how many Sherpas have run across this but I feel it's better to post in here then recruitment I'm looking for a couple hard hitters to help me achieve my goal this week. It's to get to seven wins..... Hoping to group up in about two hours from now and I'm on Xbox one
-
I do feel that carrying does put properly formed teams at a disadvantage and reduces the chances that they can go flawless, legitimately. Why don't bungie limit trials to one flawless run per week per character?
-
1 ReplyMind if I add you? I've gotten the grim for mercury so I am not looking for flawless just looking to get better. GT is same.
-
1 ReplyEdited by SquidGuy: 2/8/2016 10:52:58 PMI don't know if sherpa is the right word. For a pve event, yes. Pvp, I would call it a horse that you ride to victory.

3 RepliesAnyone wanna help get me to the lighthouse? I'm not terrible at pvp just not the best
-
10 RepliesAll this talk about accomplishments In a video game makes me chuckle. Its a game. Let people play it how they want.

Keep up the good work Have yet to go in y2. Went y1 once and got the scholar which was my only reason for trials. Bounties have kept me going in the quest for the inward lamp or doctrine from gold package every week.....everything but those 2 primaries. So once again, keep up the good work for helping people get that social space, g card, and experience

2 RepliesThe sherpas are no different to the people that play trials specifically to stop others getting to the lighthouse. The matchmaking system is based upon number of wins each team has had and not their skill level. What should happen is that people can only go flawless once on each character each weekend then the not so goods would have a better chance.

5 RepliesDrifter, there is nothing wrong here. What you're doing is obviously something that you enjoy doing. To me that's the most important thing. You aren't taking money. You're sharing your gaming experience and enjoying yourself while doing so. Isn't enjoying yourself during gaming the entire point? If taking people into Trials makes you happy, carry on my brother. I've never been to the lighthouse or even stepped foot in trials. My time to game is in the mornings when there are very few friends on. I play mostly almost exclusively solo. Spent the entire IB solo. If Trials had a match making option, I'd also try to go into Trials solo. If I could find a couple of people who just wanted to get together for the experience, I'd jump in with them. All the LFG posts however are looking for people with high elo, crazy high KD and exclusively looking for flawless. I'm smart enough to know not to respond to that. I don't want to be the scrub that screws up a chance for someone to go flawless. Hell, I just want a set of that Hunter armor more than a trip to the lighthouse anyway. That stuff is the best looking armor in the game. The point of all that? You taking people into trials is only helping the entire community by sharing experience.

2 Replieswtf is a Sherpa? Someone who carries?
-
4 RepliesIm not amazing at trials, I hold around a 1.6 KD unless I spend a bunch of time messing around in it. Im still able to help people to the lighthouse even with my stats yet I still get hate for it :(
-
Playing with a shrrpa is good. Learning taxtics, practicing gunfights, etc. Getting carried to the lighthouse is what irks me.
-
The only thing I would like to see is that for each time you go flawless you put in a queue with others that have gone flawless an equal amount of times. That way you don't have cases where one bad ass is carrying two others. Then bozos like me might have a chance against other bozos of equally poor skill.
-
I have a lot of respect for people who carry. I don't go near trials, it's way beyond me. A lot of people are pretty elitist when it comes to PVP, so to carry shows you're a decent person too
