Cozmo, could we possibly have a "content roadmap" for the future of Destiny?

A lot of things seem to be up in the air right now regarding what kind of development Destiny is going to have in the coming years. Cozmo, any chance we can get an idea of what future content will look like? Are more raids planned? Will there be paid DLC, or are you guys offsetting free DLC with silver transactions? Are there only going to be cosmetic silver events? Is there a schedule? I just I'm just curious as to how the addition of microtransactions is going to affect the future of the series. A straight answer would be cool. Could it maybe be addressed in the weekly update, Deej? Edit: If you guys aren't sure about Destiny's future, why not get us (your "living, breathing universe") involved? I wouldn't mind voting on new features. In a game like this where you want long-term player investment, you need to get the players involved to find out what's going to keep them invested. Edit 2: Our friendly neighborhood Cozmo has popped in to mention that our hunger for information should be (at least partially) quelled this Thursday. Fingers crossed!

Here's the roadmap.... 1. Release unfinished game 2. Sell us the cut content at an overpriced dollar amount. 3. Make sure when they release each dlc, make sure the grind is even longer than it previously was. 4. Make sure to have all the hours and effort we put into previous content null and void. 5. Have an assclown continuously tell us how we are "supposed" to play this game. (i.e. Don't have fun or we'll take it away from you) 6. Have lackluster Raid weapons that aren't even on par with Crota's End Raid weapons 7. Nerf the living shit out of everything the PvP crowd cry about making ALL weapons useless in PvE for some dumb ass reason. 8. Allow Luke Smith to call us idiots and tell all the community that our process of thinking is comparable to a 4yr old girl. 9. Introduce even more "optional" microtransactions that really aren't 10. Make sure they still don't have dedicated servers. 11. Say they ARE STILL LISTENING in regards to issues they haven't fixed since the launch of Destiny. 12. DeeJ and Luke Smith still offer moustache rides to the fanboys who think Bungie's shit doesn't stink. 13. Doesn't give a rats ass as to what people want as far as weapon balance and actually having the option to look different than every other guardian 14. Push back Destiny 2 without actually telling us. 15. Show more pictures of Luke Smith's sex partner in upcoming weekly updates ( it's the dog that I feel sorry for, not Luke Smith. Stupid Asshat! I know this is just a rough draft and I really hope I'm wrong. As I'm sure we all hope. Just please don't allow Luke Smith to completely -blam!- up Destiny 2 like he did with this Destiny. That's all folks!!!!! Share Gif: http://media0.giphy.com/media/9D7Jr7o9TjKta/200w.gif

    • I dont see why they dont just take the Year 1 raids and let them drop weapons and armor like KF does, in the 300-310 and 310-320 range

We will have some info for you in the BWU Thursday. I don't have any more details for you at this time but you can read some comments from Urk in a past weekly update that explains what we have planned.
Hello... It’s Urk. I was wondering if after all these tweets you’d like to meet. To go over everything (in 2016). We get it. Some of you were hoping we’d take the stage at PSX and announce 'The Dark Below II: Darker and Lower' (not a real project in development). Although you hopefully think Sparrow Racing League and the accompanying updates are fresh and fun, you’re worried about the “three week” thing, and what these events mean over the long term of Destiny as we get ready to close out the calendar year. To put it bluntly, you seem worried that there won’t be any more substantial content until we ship another full game, or that all of the content for the rest of Year Two will come in the form of timed events. “2016 is gonna be great. We're working on stuff.” Good news, everyone! There’s a whiteboard in one of our meeting rooms filled with scribblings and sticky notes that represent the developments planned for Destiny’s not-so-distant future. Events, activities, content, and features designed to keep you happy, entertained, and rewarded throughout the year to come: some events and some activities that will become additions to your Director. The first of these early 2016 experiences will be on a scale close to Festival of the Lost. The second will be far larger than anything you’ve seen since the release of The Taken King. There’s also another significant update to the world and sandbox planned in this same window. It’s true that we’ve updated the playbook based on what we've learned to date, and to better tap into what makes Destiny unique. Last year, we all waited five months and ten days between content drops after December. This year, the plan is to deliver new experiences at a faster clip. To that end, the updates described above are all currently slated to hit across Winter and Spring of 2016, with more to come, as well. “Fun stuff, that's still in development.” Plans. Stuff. Things. If there’s any one aspect of these words that are most likely to leave you cold, it’s the generic wordplay. “Just tell us exactly what you’re making!” We plan to. While some of next year’s festivities are designed to surprise, like napalm from a newly forged Dragon’s Breath, we’ll also be rolling out pre-planned announcements on several fronts to keep you up to speed. I’d love to announce it all right now. On Twitter, even. It would do wonders for my follower count, but since the team is currently in development on those projects, it would also be irresponsible. The team just shipped SRL and Update 2.1.0, after all.
• Good post and genuine questions! But seriously all the negative responses to Cosmo - why?? He's doing his job. Honestly if I'm going to continue playing Destiny I would like a good, finished , quality product! Not something rushed because everybody's bored. I understand the Destiny burn out be patient and play other games... you can only hope bungie learns from what they have already released and watch the streamers before buying a new DLC or game if your not happy with the current one.

Gosh Cozmo's answer made me lol. A simple no would have sufficed. We aren't going to get a roadmap because for some reason video game companies enjoy keeping everything behind closed doors. Bungie's idea of informing us is, "we got BIG things coming. BIG things."

If the leaked photos from 2014 showing content release schedule was true then things have changed. They're experimenting right now with what they're going to be doing in year 3 and 4. I don't think most people who work at bungie HQ has got a firm idea of what the future holds.

                      • Roadmap for Destiny in 2016: - Play Raids on every tuesday in hope of getting that rare 320 class item/ghost, feel bad for wasting time raiding to get Moldering Shards or a 312 class Item. - The rest of the week spend it browsing gaming forums/websites looking for game to play that might actually be fun and show some consideration for the time you spend playing it. - Play the new timed grind event in hope of getting (again) the 320 ghost/class item, - When March arrives, buy The Division and re-start the loot-torture cycle with a new game (which might or not be as good as Destiny, but at least is something different). - After The Division content "dries out", go back to Destiny to see what's new, and spend the rest of the year switching between the 2 games, forever unhappy with the loot, forever expecting for that special item to drop.

                        • A laudable suggestion many other MMO's do it, so you have a vague idea what is coming and an approximate time of when, they are usually published with a dates and content is subject to change notice so the developers can back away from things which are not technically feasible, or which cannot be produced for the approximate time. The problem Bungie have atm, is they have basically not bothered with year 2 at all, other than TTK and the implementation of microtransactions, they seem to be almost exclusively working on D2 with a few tiny events, focused around making them more money, which they've thrown in so they can claim they made a token effort, if they came out with a bit of transparency and said they're not bothering with year 2, most people would sack off Destiny until Autumn and come back when they have something to offer in D2. As it is, you keep playing with the hope they will provide some more content. What will probably happen from here is that they will tease and/or release something around the time that the Division is due to launch, or when they see user numbers plummeting as they leave to play that game. Probably this unspecified largest release of content since TTK they've been referring to occasionally, which will almost certainly in and of itself be a teaser event for D2 , to try to keep things fresh, with a few more microtransaction events thrown in sporadically for the rest of the year, probably more sparrow racing tracks. If they said any of that ^^ we would act accordingly and find something else to do with our time for a bit, but they seem to be horrendous at communicating or are just stringing us along in the hope that too many people won't get sufficiently annoyed to throw the towel in and not bother with D2 at all, which is leading to the large amounts of customer dissatisfaction that you see prevalent in the community and plastering these forums.

Road maps are a nightmare; at least in development. I know this because I work in software development. Often times we are asked for road maps, by our customers. But even more often than that, our plans for development change throughout the year. Hence, road maps are not accurate and they provide a false sense of implication for promise to implement and deliver said content. And god forbid you don't implement something you said was in the plans...people raise hell. Customers have high expectations, and when not met, result in utter disappointment. It's just easier for them to avoid drama by not providing us with one.

Then a July Guardians Independence Day with emotes... And then you'll get all these sneak peaks and Q&A sessions Bungie will live stream showing Crota's grandfather now wanting revenge for killing his son and grandkids. The new enemies will be all new that takes all the enemies that is taken and let them shot void turds out their butts... and you guess it, more emotes that you don't have space for

They have 2.5 good Raids (CE counts only half because too short) but VoG and CE are senseless now. Also PoE is sensless. Before TTK i did PoE weekly and the Raids if i had a Team. They could very easy with a rework of one scriptkiddie of some Tables bring them back but they wont. If the old rewards are not a Option for Luke Smith why not use the present faction Loot for the old Raids! Too raise the enemies from 165 light too 310 is not really a big work!!
