Lagging now has me banned.. Thank you Trials

How do you know if your the one lagging if you all green in connection status under roster tab? Its common knowledge that most games that are online experience lag issues but never have i experience this much lag as i do in destiny. I am writing this post due to my most recent experience with Bungie. Wether its from raid or other coop missions, everyone experiences lag in destiny but PvP is a different beast. Playing trials of Osiris can pretty much speed tract you to a ban. Is Crucible broken? Bungie banning players that fall victim to lag issues. Fan since year 1 grind of destiny.About 2 months ago while playing trials I experience the worst lag where me and my fireteam couldn't see eachother other than through displayed activity under left corner of screen. This went on for 3 consecutive games before eventually the lag subsided. Hate email from other team cursing n calling us cheats. A week later I get an account restriction from bungie for curcible. Over $160+ wasted on a game and some of my friends think that I should be greatful that bungie allowed me access to at least coop missions? Never have experience this much disrespect from a game designer. No complaints department, no room for appeal, just a link to how to be a player in good standing. Just accept and trust that they will thoroughly research and discover who the cheaters are? An avid Halo and CoD player with wired cable internet banned from trials as if I am a cheater in the crucible. Bungie needs to improve their server systems instead banning people. 2 other friends seperate time frames yet similar outcomes. Maybe I should consider myself lucky since one of them had to restart a whole new gamertag while my other friend simply moved on to Black Ops

  • So there are Account Restrictions and Bans in Destiny - these are two separate entities. Account Restrictions are temporary, while Bans are permanent. Bungie does not dispute or overturn either of them. All the details you need can be found at their official policy here. https://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Account-Restrictions-and-Banning-Policies/en/Help/Article/11929

This has happened to me in trials. Provider was having issues the night I was playing, normally have a great connection. Wired and dmz is open. Didn't know it was my provider due to the fact destiny lately hasn't had a great track record and other players were yellow and red bars in the lobby. But, I turned my console on the next day and bam restricted from multiplayer. How long did your restriction last?

      • Yes Crucible has been broken since September 9th, 2014. I do agree that there are laggers and everything in many games. And Bungie sometimes does go around and look for these people. Especially in Trials. If you are on the same team as a lagger, you can be seen as an assistant to the lagger, or someone that is taking advantage of easy winning. A restriction is temporary, so you can resume Crucible after a set time. This time, try to leave the game if you see a lagger, on your team or the other team. Good luck!!

        • Maybe if you would all get real internet connections and stop stealing wifi you would not have that problem. I know for a fact that you dont get restricted or banned for a single incident, so youre either the problem or one of your teammates was. I personally am beyond tired or red bar trash in crucible. It should not be allowed...period. all they have to do is make a minimum speed or kick policy

Don't be grateful, ask for a refund from Activision. The Crucible is in a desolate state resulting into a witch hunt, red bars are accused of lag switching etc.

            • First thing, you know they ban...If you noticed the lag and you were getting messages you should probably been fair to others and backed out of trial for the day. If it was just one person in your team and they were lead you could try changing FT leaders. Bottom line is...You just said you knew you were lagging and how bad it was yet continued with that network advantage over others. I've backed out of matches myself in IB when there were bad randoms lagging on my team so as not to get a residual bashing...not much into Trials, but I have seen the selective lag abuse there and that is one reason I don't play it. Hope to see you on a better connection..GG
