Planet Destiny podcast. The change is to base damage. That is the damage done BEFORE you add in critical hit modifiers, and barrel perk (aggressive ballistics) modifiers. Also the change wasn't intended to reduce time to kill, but to push out the effective range of ARs slightly, by reducing the severity of damage drop off.

 • Even then, realistically how much can it have affected it?

 • Not much. But it never was his goal to make any major changes. The goal was to tweak.

 • They outright lied about the changes to Auto Rifles. There is no getting around that, period. Nor do these changes even remotely affect anything about ARs in PvP: They are still just as inefficient as they were before the patch.

 • Stop. No one LIED. They simply gave us in accurate information. If you asked me what time it was, and I (without looking at my watch) said "Two o'clock" ( Its actually quarter till).....I would have given you inaccurate information. That is NOT the same as "lying". When someone LIES, they are giving you inaccurate information with the INTENT to deceive you. Either to harm you, or to manipulate you into behaving in ways you wouldn't have if you knew the facts. Anyone who has ever worked in a large organization has experienced that communication frequently breaks down, and inaccurate information frequently gets communicated with no intent to deceive. It happens simply because one or more people made mistakes. Never attribute to malice, what can be easily explained through ignorance or incompetence. IOW, the vast majority of people have their hands full trying to keep from screwing up their own lives, to have any energy left to dedicate to deliberately -blam!-ing with yours.

 • Then why did it take 18 days with the forums hot with the numbers 7,3, and 4% to reveal a mistake had been made?

 • Right... they just mistakenly told everyone the same information in several comments prior to it. That happens all the time. The lie is after the fact, when they said these were always the numbers. The players were mistaken. You must be a bungie employee, or relative of one

 • It's not the first time. Such as the awful IB drop rate: deej first claimed it was working as intended, and then turned around and claimed it was a bug. What company does that? It feels like they try to hide their screw ups to save face. I wouldn't care if they came out and said "Hey, we screwed this up, and we are working to fix it." I realize they aren't perfect, but at some point they have to realize, "Hey this method isn't working."

 • What company does that? A company that has different teams working on different parts of the same project, and who aren't doing a good job of talking to one another.....added to a company that isn't used to having to deal with its customer's feedback in real time. What you need to do is that you need to CONSIDER THE SOURCE, when assessing the reliability of information. Deej is a public relations guy. He's not a coder...and he's not a project manager. He's simply going to bring to us what he's told...and what he tells us is only as reliable as the person HE ASKED for it. Bungie is having to learn a lot of things on the job here. They are not used to making RPGs...and they are NOT used to producing games that require a ongoing, long-term relationship with the customer. They are used to games where they could pretty much push them out....and then attend to them on their own timeline and at their own convenience....until it was time to push out the next installment. They are used to keeping secrets and making dramatic reveals. They are not used to dealing with a community that demands constant communication, and transparency. Because they aren't used to dealing with a community that is this heavily invested in a game. So....like any person who is inexperienced....they are going to screw things up. ROYALLY at times.

 • Whoa there kelly, I was with you till the end, the Halo community was heavily invested in Bungie's games for a long time. In fact in the past Bungie was better at communications with said community too. But they definitely should be used too dealing with a large community by now.

 • ROFL. Why should I be concerned about whether anonymous people like me?? Especially when their feelings about me have more to do with them than it has to do with me? As long as I treat you with respect---and that doesn't require me to agree with you on anything---your not liking me is your problem.
