... And why I probably should've bought it before Hard Light.
AR's lost range, power, precision, stability. The top tier AR's are Silimar's Wrath (II) and Doctrine/Arminius with counterbalance.
PR's lost range, power, stability. The top tier PR's are Bad Juju/Hawksaw/PDX-45.
HC's lost range, stability, accuracy (and exotics were nerfed). The top tier HC's are any mid/fast firing HC with good stability and rifled barrel AND any exotic HC that's not The First Curse.
THERE'S NOTHING LEFT.
Bad guns were buffed to be average (at most).
Good guns were nerfed to be average (or worse).
MIDA was always a bit better. It's still a bit better.
MIDA is now top tier. (probably because Thorn is gone)
OMG FR... Good thing I can strafe faster than a sparrow to dodge those bolts.
OMG shotty... Good thing I can sprint backwards while pelting you with 90 aim assist rounds.
OMG sniper... Good thing I can dodge bullets and close the gap quickly while constantly staggering you.
OMG empty mag... Good thing my reload is instant, and I can retreat in a flash for prep work.
OMG I missed my snipe... Good thing I can swap to MIDA to finish what I started.
OMG I can't get in for my shotgun fun... What about MIDA sprint->slide->quickdraw shotgun?
OMG I suck... Good thing I can run away, fast as a Kenyan.
However, this is just in theory. I'm not sure if it increases aerial speed capabilities (like faster titan skating). I haven't been able to get my hands on a Trials-ready copy yet. Plus, I probably suck at everything.
On a side note, some hidden "meta" stats (stats that change with the meta) to consider when choosing your weapons are "burst potential" and "reliability". AR's low burst potential makes it harder to land all shots therefore lowering their overall damage output but increasing reliability. Lyudmilla looks good on paper but... realistically you're NEVER going to get that 2 burst kill due to the terrible burst potential. Unless everyone is using some magical recoil control technique I'm unaware of... It's easier to land hits with a slow, precise weapon (like a HC or scout) but more punishing to miss. Except for snipers, bodyshot TTK is often as important as headshot TTK for average players, and I actually recommend aiming for the body with AR's and TLW, chest/neck for PR's, and body/head for HC (depending on situation and weapon class). Unless you're a total crackshot, stay away from Jade Rabbit.
Class tier list:
Warlock > Sunbreaker > Other
DEAR SALTY PEOPLE: I never said MIDA was too OP. It's right were it should be as an exotic. The poll AGREES with me.
Bonus tip: MIDA's TTK is 1.5s (6 bodyshots), 1.2s (1 headshot, 4 bodyshots), 0.9s (3 headshots, 1 bodyshot). Unless you completely fail and can't land a single headshot, MIDA's bodyshot TTK, in practice, should be as fast as most AR's! MIDA also has enough impact to kill via 1 bodyshot if the target was already hit by a high impact sniper bodyshot. This leads to easy and powerful team plays.

I CALLED IT. Also, high caliber rounds FTW.

1 ReplyWill test in IB.
-
Its one of my favorite guns in the game, its always proven to be good no matter the unbalanced state of crucible
-
3% are liers or have found a solid primary. 10% are salty or actually see that it could use some tunning. 87% use mida.

Jade rabbit blows it away

Edited by jamez_70: 12/21/2015 9:07:00 AMWhere is the "MIDA is for scrubs" poll option?
-
23 RepliesTLW is king atm. MIDA is second in line. However saying sun breaker is even a semi viable PvP class post update is asinine. Sunsinger, Gunslinger, Striker, Bladedancer, Nightstalker, are the only good classes. In that order.
-
Hahaha fast as a Kenyan, do you also say fùck you and kick them in the face with your ENERGY LEGS.
-
2 RepliesI literally just got it five minutes ago. Can't wait to test it out tomorrow. I'm guessing its primarily a pvp weapon? Maybe I'll break a 9k medal score.
-
I've always loved Mida. Mida shines now more than ever because Bungie has nerfed the shit out of everything else.
-
The MIDA has always been good. It's just able to shine now that things are getting closer to balance as far as primaries go. Most MIDA 1v1's will be won by who is more accurate while moving.
-
3 RepliesWas it ever not top tier? That gun was second to none year one.
-
2 RepliesScout rifles in general are great
-
1 ReplyYour poll shouldn't exist.
-
1 ReplyNightstalker + max agility + keen scout+ Mida = faster than Usain Bolt
-
Mida vs. sniper at long range , mida will win most of the time . In nice open range PVP maps its awesome .
-
2 RepliesOP, look at the poll, and you'll see everyone disagrees with you
-
3 RepliesMida is balanced, it just seems like it's OP because everyone uses it. What I would say is that a lot of scrubs might get mad at the fact that they get outgunned by it, the strafing speed throws off aim assist pretty good plus third eye is the icing on the cake.
-
To answer your question: Not even close. In fact, I want you to read this little theorycraft I did earlier. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/181534972/0/0

1 ReplyI love this gun because Ive used it since I got it in January last year. Not to mention I gravitate towards scout rifles and agility builds. It fits everything I need. What makes me mad is literally everyone uses it right now because they think its the best weapon out there. TLW and Suros Regime are better on TTK And close range and thats just off the top of my head. It really only awards players who sit back and are willing to be an anchor. Not to mentioned you cant just be some punk off the street despite the Aim assist being so high.
-
It's always been really good
-
I do really like this gun but honestly, take the aim assist down and a lot of people wouldn't say it was as good. I do love it but just saying.
-
Needs a bigger right testicle
-
Successful lance Armstrong penis poll.
-
Penis poll. It's balanced.
-
5 RepliesIt's balanced. But people say it's so op because every other primary has been nerfed (besides autos but those are for close range) so scouts are overused... Difference between overused and op.
