Hand cannons are still not consistent enough.

The increase to ADS accuracy in 2.1 was appreciated, and I can tell a difference. But stuff like this still happens. In this clip I was using Hawkmoon with accurized ballistics and hammer forged, which brings the range up to a pretty high level for hand cannons. And yet, standing completely still, with my reticle directly over the head of a Dreg who is also standing completely still at medium range, the shot simply misses. Why? Just because. I'm sorry but that's still not good enough. I'm not saying we need to go back to the days when you could practically snipe with even a low range hand cannon, but come on. Hand cannons are supposed to be accurate weapons. In fact I'd say their accuracy is even more important than that of a scout rifle (just not at the same range obviously). Missing a shot with a hand cannon means a relatively long wait for the next shot compared to a scout, so I should miss because my aim was bad, not because the game just decided I would. P.S. please don't use this thread to complain about the Hawkmoon range nerf and say "Hawkmoon is dead." This is a problem with all hand cannons, not just one exotic. The only HC I've found to shoot reliably at this point is The First Curse.

  • The problem isn't hand cannons. They've stated before that accuracy will fall off when fired at long ranges. Hawkmoon now no longer has a long range therfore will not consistently hit its target when where you're shooting it from.
