Let it go dude... I miss my old Y1 Weapons too, but hanging on to the same old things forever would be boring. Yeah we worked hard for then, but we have to adapt and move on. Those weapons are memories now, the vault is their tomb. Let them rest in peace.

 • I'd pull my Fang and Corrective Measure back out in a heartbeat, and I sure as hell wouldn't mind using them for the life of the game. Shit, in Fallout 3 I used the Hunting Rifle well into late-game. Good weapons are good weapons.

 • Going out of your comfort zone to fight the darkness is what Destiny is. The rewards wouldn't be good, or make it fun for that matter, if we just set the bar so high that nothing can top our Fatebringer, Vision, Fang, or Ghorn.

 • It's not about not allowing things to top them, it's about Bungie producing weapons we would rather use instead. I love many of my Y2 weapons, but the choice to use them instead of my Y1 weapons should be mine, not Bungie's. Arguing for lack of choice is ridiculously narrow-minded. If we had the choice, you could choose not to use your Y1 guns, and I could choose to use my Y1 guns. My choice to do so wouldn't effect you in the slightest. See what I'm saying? It should be my choice.

 • It should be your choice, not the creators of the content? Wow. Did it ever occur to you that maybe our weapons cleared out the enemy too quickly and that Bungie didn't want it too easy? They want us to grind and get our perfect weapons again in TTK, and have fun along the way. Is that too much to ask?

 • Maybe they do, but we worked hard for those y1 weapons.

 • We did, indeed. Bungie is giving us something else to work for and love.

 • As the purchaser of the product, I should absolutely have the choice on how I play it. If I buy a newspaper and want to wipe my ass with it, the publisher sure as hell can't stop me. Limiting choice is rarely a good decision. My choice wouldn't affect you, so why would you care? And if we cleared content too quickly, it was probably because it was the same content we'd run over and over and over and not because our guns were too powerful. If it was because of the guns, then Bungie needs to make better challenges.

 • Valid points, all of them. But this game is forever changing, so it's like the company making the newspaper made it so that you cannot wipe your ass with it. You are the consumer of Bungie's product, indeed. However, Bungie's product is their design, and they are the owner, so they reserve all rights to change the product they put out. It is their choice to sell the changing product, and yours to buy. You buy the product, not design it. They made different content with TTK, and solved many problems. Not all, but some. With these changes, some things need to be added, others removed and made obsolete. These Y1 weapons stay in the past, with the old Destiny.

 • But they don't need to, which is the point. You're arguing for less choice, and that's just silly. Allowing old guns to advance wouldn't negatively effect you or the game in any way, so why fight it?

 • No, you're arguing for a game with a 10 year contract to stay the same with the same weapons, and that is silly. Staying in your comfort zone and not having anything to aspire to or grind for is bad for the game. You need to learn to adapt and have something to work for. If you have everything you already want, what's the point of playing? Yeah you can keep killing the same guys with different weapons, but that won't last. Bungie is trying to make new things to unlock and work for, and give more reasons to play. Deal with it, or stop playing.

 •
No, you're arguing for a game with a 10 year contract to stay the same with the same weapons, and that is silly.
You still believe that, even after they've admitted that there is no ten year plan?
Staying in your comfort zone and not having anything to aspire to or grind for is bad for the game.
It's not about my comfort zone, it's about being able to play the game I bought the way I choose to play it. I'm enjoying many of the changes in Y2, including many of the new weapons (particularly the Suros scouts). Doesn't mean I wouldn't want to break out my Fang of Ir Yût every now and again, especially because it was a weapon I invested my time in (and grinded for) instead of one I ordered from the Gunsmith.
You need to learn to adapt and have something to work for. If you have everything you already want, what's the point of playing?
Again, I have no issue adapting. Have you seen a single post from me asking for a single nerf? No, I argue against nerfs, because I adapt. And what's the point of playing? For fun. If you're playing for some virtual goodie, then more power to you.
Yeah you can keep killing the same guys with different weapons, but that won't last.
Really? It lasted a whole year so far. The only new bad guys we've gotten are the Taken, and they die just the same. Still here, aren't I?
Bungie is trying to make new things to unlock and work for, and give more reasons to play. Deal with it, or stop playing.
You're operating under the close-minded assumption that "new things to unlock and work for" requires that old things are forced into obsolescence. They don't have to be, and if they weren't, you'd be none the wiser. This wouldn't even show up on your radar. And finally, "deal with it, or stop playing the game"? This is a feedback forum. Both for positive and negative feedback. You know that none of your arguments hold water any more than a bucket missing it's bottom, so you'd rather the discussion cease. It's a pity you're so closed-minded on this issue.

 • It's a pity that Bungie has made their decision to move on and you can't accept that. No matter how much requested, they aren't gonna go back on their word, or change their plans. I'm close minded on the issue because the issue is already resolved and you won't let it go. I want the topic to cease because it's a worthless topic since it won't be changed. Be realistic with feedback, positive or negative. 10 Year plan or not, it's not difficult to see that Bungie has a plan for this game and Y2 is a new start. All these old Y1 Weapons are elemental, all Luke Smith said elemental primaries won't make a return. If you think I was saying you have to have something to grind for to have fun, you're wrong. You're fighting to keep something you grinded for, and that should be respected. However, if you have no reason to try and get new loot because it's not a better scout than your fang, what's the point? Right now there is always something to aspire to, whether it's higher damage value, or a new raid weapon. Bungie is making new content, and with it, new weapons, armor, and many changes. You're asking Bungie to do something they explicitly said they will not. Prolonged play time and more reasons to play, oh curse you Bungie!

 • You eat paint chips as a kid? I never said there weren't other guns I wanted. Y2 is proof that they don't have a plan. In Y1 we got to 365 damage. They "renormalized" to 170 because they hadn't planned for what damage values would look like in Y2. That look like a plan to you? With HoW, they allowed us to ascend all legendaries to max, then reversed that decision with TTK. That sound like a plan to you? Bungie is winging it. They have been from the moment they were ordered to chop the game up. We're giving our feedback. You don't like it, because your god Bungie can do no wrong. Your arguments boil down to "no Bungie best!" Come back when you've got a legitimate argument against ascending Y1 weapons. And no, "Because god-Bungie said so" is not a valid argument.

 • Okay, "kid." If our weapons just kept going up and up, the numbers wouldn't fit on the screen. You clearly haven't been reading what I said about Bungie making new content that includes new changes. Their plan is to expand and make changes to what need be. Expansion and evolving IS the plan. You seriously can't get through your head that your precious Fang isn't coming back. Get something new. I didn't know that it was your job to tell the game makers what they're doing wrong? Please forgive me, you must know what's best for the game, surely not the creators.

 • Exactly. I miss my word of Crota and my visions of confluence. Hell, I even miss fate bringer. But in my honest opinion, it should be my choice whether or not I want to use the new weapons or the old ones.

 • Never had Word, Fatebringer, or Vision, but I know what you mean. I think a lot of people fail to understand that limiting choice is the main problem. If Y1 weapons advanced, you could choose to use them if you wanted to, and if you didn't want to, then it wouldn't affect you in the slightest. I miss my Mida.

 • No, it's their tomb because the creators of the video game made it so and will keep it so. We have to find new weapons to love. I miss them, but they have aspects that only Y1 weapons can, and that aren't allowed on Y2 weapons.
