I love the storm trance super and think Bungie did good on this one. Most supers excel at something and have a weakness somewhere else (except maybe hammer-man), but the stormcaller seems the most well rounded to me. Golden gun gets range, but no defense. Ward of dawn gets defense, but no mobility. Arc blade gets mobility, but no range. Fist of havoc and nova bomb get instant, devastating power, but are one-and-done.
Storm trance gets a little taste of everything.
-Good damage, but not instant death.
-Slight defense boost, but not as much as BD/SB.
-Better range than arc blade, but not long distance.
-Balanced perks to fit your play style (unless you use Impossible Machines and have 2).
-Normal, unhindered mobility.
Even then, it still has a niche role at clearing masses of low-health adds. If I didn't already love my warlock enough, now I have even more reason to.

5 RepliesStormcaller is OP... The super lasts way to long. One can chase a dude across the map and then come back and kill me.

Edited by I Pye: 10/18/2015 9:04:00 PMI find the stormcallers super worse than the hammer of sol to be honest

1 ReplyThis may be off topic but can you get the impossible machines with intellect and discipline? I've reforged mine at least 9 times and nothing but strength and something else

It does feel incredibly balanced. For PvE or PvP but to me it's almost too balanced. I still prefer Voidwalker for both PvE and PvP just because you talked about that raw devastation. There's only 1 thing I want to change about it. Give the melee an over shield or health regen on kill. That's the only reason I prefer Voidwalker. As it is, it's the only that lack regen or over shield (other than throwing knives or smoke. But throwing knives does the most damage and goddamned poison...) It honestly destroys the class. It just feels a little lackluster. Change that 1 thing and I'll immediately switch to it for both PvE and PvP
