I'm surprised that nobody is quoting Kotaku... They literally say there wont be any PAID expansion until fall of 2016 so for me it means no raid until fall of 2016.. I'm so sad...!
EDIT: people are saying we will get raids for free. Okay.. ^^ don't need to insult me. A free raid sounds good but too good to be true for me ^^
EDIT2: It seems that I should have added a third option : "op is jumping to conclusions" :), meaning you think new dlcs with raids will come for free. (well thanks to microtransactions). I cannot edit the poll :/ I personally don't think Activision would do that but I hear you :)
-
Really doubt a free raid will drop. Those things take at minimum 6 months to plan, develop and test.
-
This doesn't mean no new raid. They never said that. I can absolutely see them releasing a free raid mid 2016. They said there will be free content all year but two free large scale downloads in 2016. This absolutely could mean a raid in 2016. Change the title of this post as its very misleading.
-
Honestly doesn't bother me if im not paying. I would be okay with less content for a while.
-
6 RepliesThe game is clearly going to slow down next year and they're going to start hyping up Destiny 2 That's ok because we could all take a break by then and play some other games and come back fresh and ready for the sequel. In the meantime don't think about it to much, we're not even a month in with The Taken King. There's still plenty to enjoy for now
-
It could be an equivalent to prison of elders Maybe bungie will release end game content that doesn't qualify as a "raid" technically speaking
-
go back to you bridge troll literary first paragraph And the developers at Bungie will be doling out free story content every few months until next fall
-
Every raid they make makes Destiny more popular.
-
They would not go a full year with no raid unless they had big plans for the old ones.
-
It's hard to say. Bungie and sources have said you'll get free content up until the next major expansion, and it will be substantial content, so the belief is dark below or how sized. Also in the time line that leaked ages ago a vex Dlc pack was due to drop, so odds are that is in part, some of the content. Does it contain a raid? No idea. It also depends on bungies approach to raids now. Dark below Dev time was fairly short, and it wasn't a great raid. It was one of the reasons they skipped a raid for how. Where as TTK was a major expansion and had the time to create an awesome raid. I think we'll get something in between. Probably near the 6 month mark we'll get a new raid to tied us over till destiny year 3 (much like wow do). The rest of the content will be strikes, gear, missions, maps etc

Edited by CheeseSando: 10/7/2015 2:51:03 PMConsidering the standard set with King's Fall, I'm actually okay with this. We haven't even done the hard raid. (or had people chirping over needing it). We honestly should just add quests, gear, and other activities. More story missions, strikes. I'm good with that. Since let's examine the current process Player : "I maxed this character out!" Bungie: "well we need to raise the level cap. Should we reduce the values of other items? Make current gear useless? Make a magic consumable to make any gear the new cap? Add arbitrary xp levels that take basically no time to accomplish? Wait does this mean end game content like the raid will be easier? Should we make the raid more difficult? We need to streamline our currency system, then add 2, more currencies? So yeah, just add more things to do, new items, and figure out other things to do. (6 man patrols, something better then Prison of Elders, other crucible modes) I would prefer a raid, and if so release it in spring. If they would have flipped crota and prison then you get a nice game mode and probably a better Crota raid.
-
The problem with raids is that once people beat it they become boring and pointless. Crota and Vog are prime examples, both were great upon release and complex but once people found an easy way to do them they became useless. For kings fall, my friend has gotten already bored of it considering the amount of times he's already done helping people. If a new raid were to release it would have to be as complex as vog and kf maybe even bigger.
-
Uhh, nobody said no raid...
-
just stop
-
No smaller do like how and tdb will be free with smaller raids
-
1 ReplyYes, lets jump to conclusions before anything is officially announced by bungie. Thats how we should go about things.
-
Kotaku is a rumor mill
-
Kotaku is also where they reported that Gjallarhorn was removed from Xur's loot table. Which it wasn't. They are fine with starting unsubstantiated rumors.
-
Nobody is quoting Kotaku because Kotaku is not a reliable source.
-
Please bump the post below mine, a lot. Like a lot , a lot. But don't bump mine not once my boss will get mad about my phone going off
-
1 ReplyWAIT GUYS.... It said paid expansion. Maybe we don't have to pay for it.....
-
WHAT?! ALL DESTICLES MUST READ THIS
-
Who said that raids have to cost money? Maybe they will be free too.
-
We JUST got this one. Man
-
15 RepliesCrota was a free raid... If they follow their current model, we will get 1 more raid before Destiny 2 releases.
-
