I would like to have a calm, civilized conversation about the Hunter throwing knives. I believe that the headshot damage, not the base damage by any means, should be increased. My reasoning is...
Titans have a one shot melee, the shoulder charge, and I have also seen titans regenerate health upon dealing melee damage.
Warlocks have an ability that allows them to receive an extra overshield upon landing a melee hit.
Hunters, Gunslinger in particular, have no way to land a melee and immediately kill someone apart from using there exotic slot and having to be invisible AND behind the enemy. I use Gunslinger, and I can land a headshot with the knife AND have the burn ability active, and not receive a kill. I believe that that should be rewarded with a kill, especially with a burn. Even if a basic throwing knife (without the burn) would not make a 1 shot, a precision shot AND the burn affect should.
Edit: Due to a common misunderstanding, I am implying that the burn should kill the person. I don't believe a basic knife should be able to kill a player with one shot. The incendiary knife perk would have to be active in able to get the kill.
Edit: Due to a common statement, which I do believe to be true, I think that of this was applied, the hit box for the head should also become smaller. I will agree, I have made a few knife shots that I thought were going to miss completely.
Edit: Let's go guys! 100 replies! Keep posting that input! I'm loving your guy's opinions on the matter.
Edit: 200 replies! Keep them coming!

Please vote and leave your opinion below on whether you think this should be changed or not. I would like to keep this calm and without all the fighting and arguing. I'm not crying for it to be buffed, but it should be considered given the abilities of the other classes.
Edit: Just to make this clear, you would have to use the incendiary knife perk. I don't know how many times I have to say this. That perk takes the place of the precision reset perk, so you could not run around constantly making knife kills. Please understand this. I'm getting tired of explaining this to each person.

7 Replies*shoulder charge isn't a melee, so it's not comparable to throwing knives *flame shield is not a melee either, it's a melee upgrade The only things you compared it to don't make sense.

"OMG over 500 replies?! Wow gaiz ...please let me bask in my internet fame some more and edit this in!" 8D

For some reason someone kneeing you in the gut is an insta-kill, but when you get domed by a knife, you're able to walk it off...
-
It used to be in the beta if I recall correctly
-
Throwing knife head shot makes me angry every time I get one and it's not a one shot kill... Like you just got a knife in your head...
-
I like the throwing knife as it is, but I think the basic stab could do with a slight buff.
-
I don't mind the knife as it is now because it works well with my playstyle: If I know I have a knife charge, I will risk a 1v1 where I know I might run out of ammo due to having used ammo to kill someone else beforehand. If I do run out of ammo in the aforementioned case, then I will simply attempt to backpedal or jump backwards and then finish off with a throwing knife. Works 9/10 times.

Did you know hunters already have a one shot Melee kill? It's called backstab.
-
3 RepliesI fix this and problem with a couple shots then throw a knife. Imagine if they were one shot Kill, Hunters would be so OP In Crucible. Example: A Titan is running towards u with His Shoulder Charge ready, and u notice him and hit him with ur knife. +100 Kill.
-
Obviously a -blam!-ing knife to the eyes should be a 1 hit kill but noooooo lets just kick hunters to the said and say "OI...PISS OFF"
-
2 RepliesBest idea I have is that the throwing knife has increased precision damage over range. So, to get those OHKs you need to hit someone in the head from a solid range that requires skill. If you've ever played TF2 think the sandman bat. I don't believe that that would be op as long range throwing knives are hard to pull of. By long range I mean to the point where you need to consciously throw above and lead the target.

Agreed....kinda miss those COD throwing knife halfway across the map kills or kills in general. Was a good alternative if you were reloading and someone was coming at you. I've been killed so many times by the throwing knife.

5 RepliesLETS TALK ABOUT HOW THERE IS A PERK THAT EXTENDS THE LENGTH OF GOLDEN GUNS DURATION IF YOU GET A KILL WITH A THROWING KNIFE. Unless the enemy is damaged it is not physically possible. Such a waste of a perk other than the recovery boost it gives or armor boost i forget which one. So -blam!-ing dumb

2 RepliesOne shot if they have low armor.
reason I say this is it would be op, the range you have with it is really good, but the reason I say low armor stat is so you don't run around with two one hit throwing knifes, if you want to one shot everything you'll have to use the burn and I don't believe the burn let's you reset your knife after a kill
I think that's the best way to balance that lol.

I main a hunter and I don't think it's a good idea. Couple of reasons: • double throwing knives and Monte Carlo • it's a projectile
-
Saw a Titan charging at me. I shot him once and then knife throw in the middle of his shoulder charge; dead. Best feeling in the world :)
-
4 RepliesI'm not sure how to tell you this but when 2.0 dropped the hunter knives are know a 1-shot headshot with the burn.
-
Honestly if I'm going to throwing knife someone I've already given them gun damage. I'll use the knife if I empty the clip.
-
3 RepliesI just wish a throwing knife kill would count as a melee kill during iron banner.
-
With burn, yes
-
6 RepliesWarlocks don't have a one shot melee.
-
No the head hit box is fine, it's the massive aim assist that curves the knifes trajectory
-
I find the throwing knife incredibly useful as is. More so than shoulder charge or an over shield for the way I play... That being said sure lets make it OP :)
-
I like how it is because I use it as an emergency when slightly out of melee range or needing to reload and finishing off someone
-
To be honest im actually fine with how the knife is doing atm because in my opinion its not meant to be used to get a kill, but it is used for a panicking situation so that you can get the enemy's hp low or kill them if you had shot them already.

4 RepliesHow about increasing the aim assist/ hit box/ tracking for the knife for easier precision hits? The throwing knife is very solid when combined with a hand cannon head shot or a few shots of anything else just before hand. Make it easier to combo a few shots and a knife head shot and that'd bring it on par with the other two classes strong melees. 100-0 for 1 single head shot seems a bit too good for quite a decent ranged melee.
