Everybody has come across one of these players during a strike, you enter a strike and you start running towards the first objective but you notice that at least one person from your fireteam isn't doing anything. Yeah we're dealing with someone who is AFK and just want to be a leech.
Basically people are like to enter a strike, watch tv and enjoy the reqards afterwards when about 15 minutes have passed. Some even take measures to not be disconnected for standing still for to long by holding their thumbstick in an angle so they start walking.
I don't mind having one person leave as a new person can join halfway the strike, the thing I'm personally anoyed by are these leeches.
Bungie needs to think of something that will deal with these people such as adding a rule that will make that person actively take part in the strike. Rules such as:
1st rule: You need to be inside the boss room at the end within a certain amount of time when 1 or both other fireteam members enter this room or you will be kicked.
Basically like adding a 6 minute timer when the first person enters and change it to 3 minutes when the second person enters the room.
2nd rule: You need to do at least x amount of damage in the strike or you won't receive any rewards. (People who enter midgame have to do less amount of damage).
Everyone should be able to achieve this certain amount of damage even if they've never gotten a kill in that strike.
As a part of the fireteam you need to be doing your part by adsisiting the other two guardians. Some people may say that deaths will decrease the possibility to achieve that score since you're out of the game, but then that means you're not actively taking part in your fire team and merely acting as a lone wolf. It's the risk you take.
I hope I get positive reactions and that people agree that Bungie needs to deal with this.

1 ReplyIf I get in a strike and the 3rd person doesn't follow me/us along... I'll wait for them. If after a minute they're still standing in the starting spot. I'll leave.
-
Its just a strike. Leave em behind
-
It kind of has already. Report them via the in-game reporting system. They get enough reports they get banned from certain activities for a while, like strikes.
-
It's simple: When you don't play, don't join a lobby. That's it.
-
Its just annoying that the kicked for inactivity doesn't work for like 45 minutes
-
2 RepliesHate people that do that that I always make sure to push them into an enemy in case they have a strike without dying bounty

Three guardians spawn on the moon at the crater in front of the Hellmouth. Two go for it and run the strike, occasionally wondering where player #3 is. One checks their menu for fireteam members.. Still 3 people. Ah well, let's get this strike finished and onto the next. "At least it's chained up" Player #3 appears from nowhere, shoots Phogoth twice with a rocket and get's an exotic while the other 2 get nothing. Yes, I concur fully that this is utter bullsheet!

Simple fix would surly be you have to be active in every "darkness zone" and get some kills and assists or no rewards. My personal hate is non afkers that hide all the time.
-
I've noticed it way more recently, once in a strike the amount of time to be considered inactive and sent back to orbit needs to be quicker, and the matchmaking just needs to be better at replacing a player once one leaves or goes inactive. Most of the time when a player just ups and leaves or is AFK, I am either stuck finished the strike with one to two players, or we don't get the new player until the boss' health is already half gone.

I haven't done anything with randoms in forever lol
-
They have been though. The ban-hammer that struck a month or so ago targeted PvE players as well as crucible players. Since then I've noticed it happening less but there will always be some amount
-
I hate afk.. someone got an exotic with no kills and I get a blue. No thanks. Always report them but there should be a way to kick but only if the player has been inactive and has done no damage etc..

4 RepliesWhat if your controller runs out of batteries, you go find more, and by the time you get back, the other people are almost at the boss room. Then, you try to fight your way to them, but you die in a darkness zone. You must wait 30 seconds to respawn and try again. They ghorn the boss to death within a minute. You get no rewards and they get legendary engrams.

When people are afk I just ram them with my sparrow over and over again until they get pissed off

4 RepliesEdited by phriendtj: 8/12/2015 4:23:35 PMcan't you run all these strike solo by now anyways? why do you care if someone is inactive what really needs to be fixed is the amount of inactivity in the crucible. that is where it can really hurt you. the timer for inactivity for a crucible match should be 10 seconds (button presses in menu do not count as inactivity); usually by the time the game figures out someone is inactive in the crucible the other team has gotten three or four free kills off that person. This amount of points for them (and possible points they could have gotten for us were they active) is often the deciding factor in whether or not you win a match
-
Should make you hit a button before the strike
-
The way this can be solved is by adding a notification at one minute or even 30 seconds of inactivity stating, "are you still there? Press a/x to remain in game (as it counts down from 20 or 30 seconds)" easy

18 RepliesA vote to kick option would weed out most of them.

7 RepliesEdited by r o b b i e: 8/12/2015 3:54:15 PMBan this guy. Been afk for so many strikes.
-
Meh, doesn't bother me. Actually find people that go charging ahead more annoying if I'm honest
-
I just kill them and leave.
-
They need a buzz option. It vibrates the afk player's controller and if they remain AFK for 120 more seconds, they get kicked.
-
Had an afk player two times in a row last night and wondered why I called him a scrub via msg after quitting the last game
-
Inactive people drag the rest of us down and waste our time. Lazy on a video game has to be tree laziest of the lazy. Or even better people that run into a room with you and crouch or shoot one enemy in a wave and stop.

Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica.
-
Just report them
