I have actually thought about this. I think it should be chosen at the beginning of a game, and can't be changed afterwards.

  • The last method I just thought of which makes more sense since other games do this, is allow the choice to change gear only when you're dead and waiting to respawn.

  • That would work. With that it limits you but also gives you freedom.

  • Though that would create some interesting styles of play, it's incredibly restrictive. I feel a bit more power should be given to the player for choice.

The reason I said that is so in like crucible you can't decide "oh that dude with the vex is killing me a lot, let's just swap to a void shield. So if you could Change it later on there needs to be restrictions.

  • What if you had a cooldown timer for the shield if you change the shield out and you only have the Neutral shield during this time? For instance, a 60 second cooldown period when you switch, say, a helmet that has Solar to a helmet that has Void.

  • That could work to. And I must say it's nice not talking to a one sided incompetent idiot for once. 80% of replies on this form are nothing but people bashing each other.

  • Lol. I've been on here a lot and paid attention to how to get people to respond with positive feedback. Pretty much 2 things matter: Have a neutral tone and offer positive criticism. The threads that start off by bashing something with aggressive language develop a hostile environment.

  • But that is the thing, most people seem to enjoy makeing hostile environments.

  • Some do. I for one have a smartass personality so I like to -blam!- with people, but it can piss them off haha. As for others, they just don't know how to make a good argument and have a bullheaded personality. Most people are more receptive if you are respectful, thus making an idea easier to be liked, even if it's not a good idea.

  • If all else fails, you just negate this mechanic for PvP.

I think that would work. In pve most things are easy. Changing your shield won't matter much. But asking as there are pvp restrictions, I think things will work out.

  • good point. What if you are restricted to the shield you choose at the beginning of the round for the duration of the match? Kind of force preset builds for PvP only.
