Calling it now, Hardlight will become the next Thorn/TLW/Red Death.
Super excited for the weapon updates overall though. Minus Gjallarhorn nerf. :[

Edited by Kill-shot_X-X: 7/17/2015 3:46:31 PMSucks what they did to Icebreaker too. @ 8 seconds per round recharge rate...gonna have to wait it out and use my slingshot n the meantime.
-
...use my slingshot...
Accurate. lol
-
The Gjallarhorn nerf is really small though:)

Edited by anthrax99: 7/17/2015 3:34:03 PMlol we dont actually know that. they didnt specify how much of a percentage they reduced wolf pack damage. could be 5% or it could be 50%, big difference between the two.
-
Actually...in the past...what they have written and what they actually implemented were two different things...do not always believe what is written by Bungie....they have been know to to mislead/misdirect to hide what they REALLY do.
-
Yep, now everyone will use the same weapon and will comp-lain about the same weapon, the threads here will be exactly the same and the only difference will be the change from thorn to hardlight... Or after the patch, another weapon will be broken... it always happen...

Edited by itsshmittyitty: 7/17/2015 3:53:09 PMYep, not matter how many times they "balance" weapons, there will always be a couple that are a tad OP. People will find out, start using them, and the crying will commence. Its almost impossible to balance that many weapons perfectly.
I'm not hating, it is what it is and it has been since the beginning
Haha, so true. Every game is like that. Except in other games, especially games that have competitive PvP with tens or hundreds of thousands playing, there are specific starting loadouts. Having every weapon in the game available to you leads people to finding the most "OP"/effective weapons to get the job done. Its not rocket science that people will use the handful of weapons that are the "best" and leave the rest by the wayside.
-
Agreed again, and soon people will use that one weapon over and over again and the cycle will repeat...like you said, it's not rocket science
-
I don't think so, most good players will never switch to an auto rifle..
-
I wouldn't consider myself a great Crucible player, but I've taken a liking to using Silimars Wrath (Both the TDB and HoW versions) and I've got to say, it's performed quite well for me in Iron Banner. In a handful of matches, after getting a few kills, I've noticed some opponents switching to theirs halfway through the match. lol
-
Doesn't it have mega low impact though?
-
Edited by MAD X H0USE: 7/17/2015 5:26:04 PMYeah, the original has 2 impact and hits for like 13 Crit damage. But when you're getting hosed down down by the stream of bullets, it's really hard to steady your aim. I've got it perked with counterbalance, perfect balance, and glass half full. Shoots straight as a laser with very little, perfectly vertical recoil. The HoW version has about 8 impact, fires a little slower, but retains the same accuracy. This one I rolled for Crowd Control, Flared Magwell, and Rangefinder. It's not a super-offensive weapon, but it gets the job done. The huge mag means you can keep enemies suppressed while you're capping zones, etc. The thing about AR's is you kind of have to switch up your play style from an attacker to a supporter. Pick off the guys on the edges, or as their coming in. Get those first few shots in and hopefully a teammate will help you drop them. Not that it can't be used to go 1v1, but you've got to keep drilling them in the dome if you don't want to get wrecked by their Exotic Scrub-cannons. lol
-
I don't think that's a true statement. I cringe at the thought of using an AR(i personally like PR's the best) but, if the new meta has AR's outgunning for the most part, i will be using my suros or hardlight more often.
-
I'm not a pvp expert, fine, nerf thorn, i honestly don't care but nerfing stuff because other players feel left out? idk man, it's not a good reason to me
-
That's what people said about hand cannons when Suros was the Shart.
-
Why do you have to be a fart? destiny is changing stuff up but I think thorn and TLW will still be good but now some of the other exotics can compete with it.
-
You say it like all patches made from bungie are a success, i don't think you have played destiny enough to realize they always break something...
-
TLW will probably still be viable, but Thorn is basically dead now. It's still worthless in PvE (because there are so many other legendary hand cannons that are better) and it won't 2 shot in PvP so it's lost it's usefulness.
-
Nope, Necrochasm will be the next great one.
