The Ruined
The Ruined - an alien race forged of some kind of energy. These "wisps" as Guardians call them came from unknown reaches of space and are believed to be heavily tied to the Darkness.
Decrypted reports from the other alien species show that The Ruined have never been seen before by any race, but every race fears them. The terms "run", "retreat", "evacuate", and "scatter" are all littered throughout any transmission involving them.
The warlocks have yet to determine if what makes up the wisps is matter or something else. At most, the warlocks sent a suicide squad in to get scans of one of the masses in a broken Golden Age ship floating between the Venus and Earth. One ghost returned with everything they could collect and a solid description for future guardian encounters:
"Their bodies pulse to a unified beat, their black bodies always morphing. Arms slide off and become legs as they move, legs then becoming arms. They seem to have a set three legs at all times, but they never touch the ground. Any physical action with something solid caused the solid to erode. They float like spirits as they meander around the ship. They seem to have faces, no set number of eyes, but anywhere from 1 to 6 at any time.
- long pause -
A massive one just moved through, dropping smaller ones behind it. This one... Hulker, we will call it, is just disturbing. No eyes, but a smile... A white smile, broken and slanted as if knowing where we are."
The rest of the ghost's report is purely the screams of those guardians being "absorbed by the wisps" as the ghost said.
A Titan was brought in from a visit to a conflict on Venus that had the Fallen in a frenzy. He sat down and reported:
"I watched the Fallen's body parts get split as this smoke of something soaked into their bodies. It raised twenty or so Fallen into the air before forming one entity and all the Fallen fell to the ground, lifeless. The figure formed a flowing figure of the condensed smoke and moved towards me. I never ran as fast as I did... It was like a Reaper coming for me..."
The Fallen fear of the Ruined is unclear. All reports seem to shift into a familiar tone, one that leads the Vanguards to believe that the wisps once brought the Fallen down to where they currently lie, in the rubble of a great empire, and now they fear it will happen to an even worse effect.
The Hive know many dark powers, gods included, but faith has yet to show them any kindness when referring to the Ruined. Hive see them as equals in motive, but superiors in power and right to rule. They fear servitude or obliteration for being in the Ruined's way.
The Vex fear them, because they have no biomass. They aren't living, but they live. They defy the Vex's knowledge of how life has been, is, and will be in the universe. The Ruined are pure and merciless evil that don't even grace the ground with their presence, and the Vex see this.
The Cabal know their strategies and military movements well, and they know them well enough to know they won't work on the Ruined. Constant chatter of their movement has cause the Blind Legion to begin developing making a new ranking of Cabal to deal with the rising threat. Their main fear, losing to something they can't touch.
Classes - Killing these is still a question of, "If?"
Markers - Half-guardian sized and quick, the Markers do no physical damage to a target. However, they zoom around like flies, fast and illusive. Be wary, Guardians, for when one passed through you, your light is suppressed and you are now a target for the rest of the Ruined's ranks.
Seekers - Guardian sized, Seekers follow the scent left by Markers, and they do it well. Once marked, there is very little time before these masses of death have moved upon you to devour you and you light.
Hulkers - Larger than life, Hulkers are the bases to a Ruined battalion. They are slow for most of a fight, and release other Ruined as they move. However, watch for their distinct smile, because it is then when they charge their enemies during a battle.
Takers - Between the Seekers and Hulkers in size, this beasts are the ones who earn their title by taking lives. Takers often form into a light fog that can be navigated through. Once inside, the Takers begin to re-condense, lifting targets into the air as they do so until the light is squeezed completely out of their victims.

1 Replybungeeeee hire this man at once, and give him a raise, and a medal, and a cookie :)

3 RepliesNot to mention your little report of fallen being ripped apart by something intangible is a complete ripoff of the Taken. Also, the Vex fearing them sounds silly since they themselves defy the very definitions of life being "programmed" before time even started. The way you describe the Ruined (ugh it even feels cheesy to type that) pulsating and morphing sounds awfully familiar. *Cough* The Taken *cough*

4 RepliesI'm interested, but I'm not sure how much fun it would be too face these things, they got whole terror thing down, but without an interesting way to engage them, or even being able to engage them, I'm not sure I'd want to see them in destiny.

2 RepliesNever been seen but other alien races know full well to run Seems legit

6 Replies-See's enemy type called The Taken from the Vidoc. -Uncreatively pulls The Ruined out from the depths of his ass. Assumes his enemy idea should have a past tense name since there's the Taken. -Proceeds to post on forum. Seriously bro, no just no.

3 RepliesIDEA ONE: Long ago, there was a race. They lived in a beautiful area on the surface of mars. Their traveler protected them. Until the day they betrayed it. They took a shard of it, shoved it in their most heavily protected area, and stood with defiance. The traveler took revenge. It exiled them and their society into a land unknown. The traveler itself planned to completely destroy them, but the corrupted shard placed in their "black" garden was able to keep them in the exiled state. One of the race rose, and he began to experiment with the infamous shard of the traveler. He created the Vex. The vex soon betrayed the entire race on the agenda of their master. The Engineer only remained. Then they started to experiment with time travel and teleportation. They suceeded, but threw themselves into a near-permanent state of fixture. But then, humanity discovered the traveler. They took it in. But sadly, it only acted as a beacon to the darkness. When the darkness came, when it first made contact with the traveler, the vex and their master awoke, out of their ancient slumber, ready to conquer.
