with the 3 new sub classes coming out and their very large potential for both attacking the enemy and supporting your team, do older subclasses become a worse option to choose from?
older subclasses look completely lackluster when compared to these new subclasses
just for comparison
golden gun had 3 shots vanilla that had a hard time killing a tier 2 enemy with a elemental sheild within 3 shots
night stalker offers options over pure GG never had such as initially creating a void trap blinding and slowing down opponents that don't die within the initial hit
what do you guys think about the new subclasses VS the old ones, and what do you think will happen with the Vanilla subclasses?
edit: People this post is a fist look interpretation post seeing how people describe the power they see. however there have been leaks and other info about what exactly these sub classes have to offer

1 ReplyIt's like Pokemon. The new games would release and all the new Pokemon would come out and everyone would marvel in how amazing they are. But at the end of the day I'd still use my Dragonite

With the new subclasses looking awesome and the fact that you have to complete class specific missions to attain them, it leaves bungie with the opportunity to do a similar thing with the old subclasses, complete missions to ascend the original subclasses to more impressive standards. Could even easily open up some lore for each class based on something like the current subclasses are based on current guardians primitive understanding of their true powers from the early guardian generation.

Im sure they tried there best to keep them balanced as possible , they look completely op because im sure thats how tbey wanted them to appear in the trailers

2 RepliesUntil it's actually released they we won't really know what these new subclasses are like. I would hope than in looking at 9 months worth of us playing the game that they would consider how to adjust the current subclasses to appeal to the community. Everyone will play the new subclasses at first just because they're new, but people will always go with what fits their play style best in the end.

3 RepliesHow can we vote with only very limited gameplay of each subclas
-
Think they are all good everyone is just bored of the current one's, doesn't mean the new ones are better.
-
Situational with all sub classes
-
11 RepliesNo ones played them yet so how can we have a opinion months ago if you asked what looks better vog weapons or Crota before tdb released people would have been on Croats dick
-
I think in pve warlocks will convert back to solar Titans can choose anything they want but we all want a defender on our team Hunters can choose anything also but I'm going for the night stalker to see how it fully plays Pvp Hunters any subclass Warlocks arc/nova subclass Titans arc/solar
-
I feel like they all look very underpowered for pve. Pvp we will see, people will bitch pvp regardless haha. Titan - solar blade dancer Warlock - even weaker ranged blade dancer Hunter - void golden gun that stuns instead of doing damage
-
The new subclasses look... Interesting. The Hammer for the Titan looks much more useful than Fist of Havoc, so it will be good for offensive, but not defensive. Same with the Lightning super for the Warlock: much better than Nova Bomb. The Hunter bow just looks... Bad.
-
1 ReplyMy bet is the new subclasses (warlock and titan specifically) are going to be much more powerful than the current ones for at least the first month to drive dlc sales, then they'll nerf them for actual balance.
-
1 ReplyGo flame hammer!
-
7 RepliesCannot even compare them until we've played the new ones.
-
5 RepliesWell for me I'm gonna be cycling through most likely when I work out what works best with what and new players will have to use vanilla subclasses anyway because we have to unlock the new subclass via a quest :)
-
1 ReplyI have to try them out before i can judge anything. But I will say the new once look super cool.
-
1 ReplyCan that void archer dude go invisible? If not the bladedancer is still the better option for high level pve...and from what I've seen of the super it will easily be the weakest of the hunter classes in crucible as well
-
I main warlock I like my voidwalker... Its fun in both pve and pvp... Lots and lots of explosion Kinda curious with stormcaller... It looks ineteresting Sunsinger is least favorite to me, except if my team need some insurance when doing nf or raid
-
4 RepliesSubclasses all have their niches. I'm sure the new ones will be great at things that others aren't but perhaps less equipped for things that the vanilla subclasses handled.
-
3 RepliesWhere is the they all have times where one is better then the other People who make polls always leave out a balanced option, its annoying
-
1 ReplyWell from what I see of the new subs is.... Hunter holds a strong add down, warlock kills all smaller adds or does a good amount of damage to the larger add the hunter has held down, and the Titan lands the death blow. I really love that my hunter will be s team player now!
-
6 RepliesPersonally, I play Titan mostly, and I think the new one will make striker useless, but I think defender will still be viable, at least in pve.
-
3 RepliesThe new one looks good except the hunter one which will suck dicks
-
1 ReplyI hoping they upgrade and refine existing subclasses. Some skills are useless and and are barely used by the community. This needs to change.
-
2 RepliesWe don't know enough about them yet to decide if they're better or not.
