Accurized is pointless since reinforced barrel maxes it's range. Plus you need shot package

Rangefinder is better

No it's not. Everyone knows ShotPackage is better. Don't make me make a poll dumbass
-
I like rangefinder better. Maybe it's just m opinion but I believe it's better in certain situations

If you have maxed range, rangefinder is literally a wasted slot. That is why shot package is better on any shotgun that has hit max range because it tightens the shot spread meaning more pellets land on target at range since some WILL miss at farther ranges just by how large the spread becomes it literally is impossible to land all the pellets. This means with shot package you can land more pellets meaning getting one shot kills at farther range than you could before. So basically maxing range is top priority, then shot package so you can consistently land kills at range, then aggressive ballistics for maxed impact on said shotgun for consistent higher damage, then the second upgrade slot is basically a free one, either luck in the chamber, final round, quick reload, the slid farther, lots of things work and it really doesn't matter much as long as you have those other main things.

Edited by Afawafa: 6/14/2015 10:25:59 AMRangefinder actually cuts damage drop off by 20%, so you're kinda doing more damage at further ranges. I'm not sure if the range boost bypasses the shotgun range cap, but honestly from my experience, rangefinder and shot package offer about the same performance in pvp.

Edited by ReigningFire: 6/14/2015 10:31:59 AMWhere do you get that the reduced damage drop off is intrinsic to rangefinder and not the range rangefinder gives? I've never seen any different. So in other words if ranged is maxed there will be no reduced damage drop off from rangefinder. Rangefinder does not increase range if you are caped that is why everyone says shot package is best because the best builds naturally max range already.
-
On standard weapons, the minimum damage they'll do due to range drop off is 50% damage. If the weapon has rangefinder, that minimum damage increases.
-
So you are saying damage drop off maxes at 50% and rangefinder gives 20% so max drop off damage is only 30%? It's also important to note they specifically reworked shotgun coding for their range so there is many aspects to keep in mind with that too as to what might and could be with how they possibly changed it.

Edited by Afawafa: 6/14/2015 12:57:17 PMYea, I'm sure shotgun range works much differently. Drops off all the way to 1 damage. I can't say exactly how rangefinder works for shotguns, as it's unfortunately pretty difficult to get a stationary target and gauge the distance in between, but it certainly does noticeably increase the effective range of a shotgun. I wish bungie was more transparent with weapon mechanics.

Welcome to most mmo's and people have to reverse engineer game mechanics lol. We'd have far more info if there was private matches that could be used for testing.
