No. It is for the " Guided Firefight" . In German: "Geleiteter Feuerkampf". It works like a clock. You determine the position of combattants and tell your fireteam in what direction to fire it, like on a clock. For example: Enemy on 2 o'clock. So everybody in your Fireteam knows the Enemy Position is on 2 o' clock and they can directly aim on target. It is a strategic tool. :-) -Blam- my english... I'm a -blaming- Kraut...

That changes on your bearing. It's only when others with you can identify your point of view they can determine what 3 o'clock is
