Just curious to see what you guys think. Personally I'm hoping it has matchmaking. If you have an opinion on the matter, please discuss why you have a preference.
My reasoning for wanting it? I think it would be more convenient than LFG and have faith that idlers/campers will not be an issue in what sounds like a horde-modish kind of game mode.
I'd like Bungie to maybe see where the majority of the community falls (even if my preference doesn't come out on top) so if you guys could like/bump this post to keep it alive it would be appreciated :).
Update 4/29/2015: Looks like a clear majority expect/want a matchmaking option. Keep the opinions coming guys and gals. The fateful day is fast approaching.
Update 5/20/2015: As everybody now knows, matchmaking is only there for the lowest Prison of Elders difficulty. Sound off below if you still have opinions about this.

1 ReplyEdited by GWBeer: 5/22/2015 4:12:32 PMIt is of little matter what the community wants more by a small percentage of votes. The fact that the commmunity is so split on the idea presents an obvious solution in itself. That solution is choice. By adding an option selection for "Find Group" and also an option for "Find my Own Group" at the same time you are selecting your difficulty level, the player can then decide if he/she prefers to use a matchmaking system or not. The player is allowed to chose which they like and prefer. The problem is not what the voting says. The problem is Bungie limiting gamer options of how we want to play. One reason for placing these limitations in games in general is to create an atmosphere of elitism. Placing a barrier between skilled/dedicated players and those that are more casual. The development team at Bungie seriously lacks the creativity to accomplish this unless they put such barriers like limiting options of play in place. Im sure budget limits and predetermined scheduling has a significant part to play, but from previous evidence presented by the development team in previous releases and updates; it is clear to see that creativity seems to be the biggest boundry for them. The clear fact that the gamer community is so split over this and the fact that Bungie is ONLY going to allow one choice to reign supreme is evidence of incompetence or limited resources on thier part. But they refuse to allow gamer choice in their game designs. As a developer in the gaming industry, when you deny what the customer wants, then by default you WILL lose customers. This is basic business. When the basic supply does not meet a simplistic demand and another supply can be provided (I.E. other MMOs, FPS, or games in general) then your money base is diminshed. Purposefully separating your client base and then again ignoring suggestions of compromise to keep players playing is evidence of lack of intelligence or resources. I do not believe the Bungie team to be lacking in intelligence, only creativity. I believe that it boils down to a lack of resources. Destiny is a free MMO afterall. But the only way to increase sales is to increase the number of players buying expansions. Their business management framework for this game makes no sense because with each realease (their only source of income) they split the community more and more. Im sure that it is still profitable and will be for a time but the fact that Destiny will be rememebered in the industry as a mediocre game will reflect on the gamers' willingness to buy future Bungie developed games. SO MUCH potential! Such poor management. Its really too bad that Bungie just isnt the company they used to be. Limiting themselves by resources and personal preference rather than by the imagination and ambition. Please Bungie! I want to remain a fan of your products, but your products are diminshing in quality. STEP IT UP!
