They could always add a "Kinetic" shield for enemies in Nightfalls and such and make it so non Void/Solar/Arc weapons hit harder on the enemies with "Kinetic" shields, thus giving the Kinetic weapons good use.

  • They could.... but... you do realize that means replacing certain established shield types per enemy for nightfalls... also, and no offense, it kinda sounds a little bit... well you know. I'm not trying to be mean, I know you're just trying to come up with good ideas and I appreciate that. I really do.

    I never said switch out arc/void/solar shields, I said add shields, thus "Kinetic" shields for Acolytes and such that kinetic weapons do more damage to. Without giving Kinetic weapons a bonus in some aspect or area of the game, you make it so that no Kinetic weapon is worth using if you have an equivalent copy in Arc/Solar or Void form

  • Well that does sound a bit more feasible. But that would only grant a total of I believe 4 enemy types that would have them...?

    They could make a Nightfall game type "Randomized" or whatever where the enemies get random shields and you could have the Kinetic shields overlap on some of the various enemies at random too, so you might have a Fallen Captain with a Blue/White Shield, that both Arc and Kinetic do bonus damage against, but resist Solar and Void. I dunno, just trying to throw out some ideas, I hate that Kinetic weapons are always 2nd fiddle to any elemental weapon. They should at least consider "weakening" the damage of the elements against non shielded enemies, maybe a -5% damage or give kinetic weapons +5-10% damage to non shielded enemies. Point is, Kinetic weapons should be the best weapons against enemies without shields, and those with shields should be torn apart by elemental weapons, but both should be good enough that you can use either in any situation.
