I have posted this before. Even if exotic primaries had burns, I still wouldn't use them in endgame PVE. Why? Because there are to many good secondaries and heavies to equip. Will always equip Ice Breaker or Gjallarhorn depending on the situation. The ONLY element that should be on primary exotics is void, as there is only 1 void exotic (truth), which is not all that great for PVE anyways. I would prefer to use an exotic Void primary over Truth in PVE.

Same here, I would never use an exotic primary in PvE unless I was screwing around with the remote or NLB

  • Well, it's not a matter of what YOU would choose, or what people would go to as default. The whole point of giving them a burn is to make them viable choices, so if you don't have something powerful like Gjallarhorn or IB (I have both btw), or if you would rather change up your strategy from time to time, that it won't greatly decrease your viability in combat. Right now you could choose to use anything that isn't GHorn or IB but you would lose a considerable chunk of damage all over the place. However if they were to get burns, you would only lose a bit of damage on the heavy or special weapon end of the table, as the alternatives to Ghorn and IB are considered almost as good, and in the case of BH v IB in situations where you can get multiple consecutive crits, BH is by far the better option as you can lay down massive damage incredibly fast. My whole point was that they are currently limiting us to only a handful of viable exotics in endgame activities, and while that may be growing with the next expansion, I feel that adding burns to these weapons, or at least some of them would present for more diverse PvE encounters in the endgame activities.

Good points. +1 for you and -1 for me only thinking of how it would effect me and not others. :)

  • It's fine, it only actually occurred to me while doing the Heroic this week, my titan was almost identical to another titan on our team, the differences were as follows: Different shader, armor was slightly different too, but I'm pretty sure they were leveling up the helmet and instead of Ruin Wings they used the Armamentarium. Outside of that, same bubble, same class perks, same weapons, with Ghorn as the heavy, BH as the Special and the Abyss Defiant taking the primary role. When that kind of thing happens a lot (I inspect some people on my fireteams occasionally and find that most people use almost the same setups as one another, why(?), because it works and there's no other viable options to keep comparable damage.
