I hope not. There will be too many people looking to be carried. if you want to be carried, nicely ask your friends, my friends helped me through crotas end when I was starting my 27 titan. I helped them on their 27 characters after. Not only that, but the AFKers... I can't even tell you how many heroic strikes that " no longer have to be soloed" but I ended up practically soloing them anyways. Both people I get matched up with in the first place(I only play weekends-Do weeklies late saturday) end up being 27s in the level 30. They end up using green guns. And in the end my back hurts from their weight.

  • I never really understood this argument, it doesn't hurt anyone to have matchmaking. If you set up your own fireteam anyway why even discuss it. It would purely allow people who don't have a clan or group of equally nerdy friends to find other people to play with. It's a no lose situation to have matchmaking.

  • What if I want to solo things? It's easier to solo it than to have underleveled guardians blocking your black hammer shots, or using rockets when you're sniping, therefore lowering DPS. There have been more times where I blew through a weekly heroic with the guys in another firearm literally sitting at a loot cave! These players get rewards for not contributing to the effort. Why would I carry people through a weekly heroic, or now even, PoE unless they're on my friends list? I don't care if you read that but you don't have to like my opinion, but I do.

  • I can see some of that. I just feel like it makes the content less accessible to the consumer, and that seems like a bad thing.

  • Let's meet in the middle and agree with Phantasy star and say optional is the way to go.

Absolutely, I wouldn't want to force you to play with others, when you would rather go solo. That's just imposing.

  • Honestly, I think I went a bit too far. By bungie did the right thing with making MM for certain activities. I like playing with other people, but it bugs me when people don't contribute to the activity that they volunteered to do.

  • I think everyone can agree on that. (I was more suggesting that sometimes people want to go solo and that I don't want to force anyone who would rather play solo to have a team.

It's still down to Bungie though. If they provide the option to force matchmaking upon you, then you should want more options not less. A check box in the game's settings that says "allow matchmaking for group activities" or something similar on a per-activity basis would solve all these problems and make everybody happy. Instead we are given what we have (which has evolved due to the criticism) and when suggestions to improve the status quo are voiced, those people are called entitled or stupid. One thing is for sure, there is definitely room for improvement in regard to giving people who play the game more options.

  • I do agree that optional would be great. Then nobody gets the short end of the stick.
