Hunter
Cloak of Dredgen Yor
Credit to Jeuscifer

If one man could stand against the night, then so too could everyone...
That's a rough quote from Thorn fragment 1. It's when Dregden Yor succumbs to his darker side.
This leads me to believe that Dregden Yor is most likely a Hunter. The flavor of Thorn 2 is definitely that of a Hunter.
"Experienced more than smart. Experience has its advantages.
He's most likely a Hunter that shouldn't have went to the Moon. It seems to change guardians.
Warlock
Cloak of Dredgen Yor.
Why wouldn't it say Dredgen Yor's Cloak?
Ghost Fragment Thorn depicts a Warlock clearly
Warlocks such as Osiris and Toland BOTH sought out the Hive magics. This is necessary for a Weapon of Sorrow, such as Thorn, to exist. It is a guardian weapon Rose that was corrupted by Hive magics to become Thorn.
Toland and Osiris only survived the influence of the Hive because they were sound of mind. Dredgen was slowly corrupting himself with the self doubt he felt by the pressure of being that beacon of hope
also dont forget that Warlocks actually used to wear Cloaks! That is mentioned in the grimoire.*
.
To everyone saying "he ruled the crucible" that's absolute horrendous logic. Thalor a titan ruled, and Ikora a warlock was very well known as well. Just because there's this preconceived notion that hunters are better in crucible doesn't make that true. Hunters are "lone wolf" builds. They benefit the Hunter and no one else, that's why they seem more powerful.
*that negates the theory that it is Dredgen in the Grimoire though
-
Nothing to do with a preconceived notion regarging a hunters prowess in the crucible. Mark of contention - Thalor ruled the crucible... until dredgen yor and his thorn. The cloak is called 'cloak of dredgen yor' because it sounds better. Simple.

There is nothing that states that freshen York had anything to do with the hive. He was kind of like a a akin sky walker in that he changed from being a beacon of hope to being feared. It never says he has anything to do with the hive. Also he fought other hunters a lot, Jarren ward, shin malphur, pahanin, Etc. so either he is a warlock who really hates hunters, or Bungie thought it would be cool to have a hunter hunting other hunters.
im not exactly sure on that no hive thing for dredged but I haven't heard anything like that before

Cloak of Dredgen Yor. Why wouldn't it say Dredgen Yor's Cloak?
Why is it called Helm of Saint-14? Wording isn't much of a problem.

Did someone really nechro this? Hunter
-
He was a servitor :D

8 RepliesThat second part with to land and Osiris seems like it clearly says Dredgen was a Hunter. Warlocks are intellectuals, and the two we know as warlocks were sound enough of mind not to lose themselves. A hunter wouldn't be.

1 ReplyEdited by ButDemBroncosDoe: 9/7/2015 11:57:57 PMFavorite character in lore, main a hunter. Hate saying it but I believe he was a warlock. Honestly though he probably started his first play through with a warlock and got bored so made a hunter.
-
5 RepliesIf anyone is willing to dig far enough one would find that the triangle on Thorn's sights is the same symbol that was the original Hunter Insignia. It shown on concept art from way back in 2012/2013...not definitive answer but it's something right?
-
If u think he's a hunter u stupid
-
He wad a hunter, nuff said
-
He was a baker.
-
3 RepliesMaybe he was a trans-class
-
2 RepliesAnyone who says Dredgen Yor was a warlock is an idiot and haven't read the lore
-
I'm not saying each class has their own type of weapon, anyone could use any weapon. However, I can't see a warlock be so proud of a hand cannon like hunters are. I'm a hunter and I love my Last Word... R.I.P. Jaren Ward.
-
1 ReplyIn most languages saying Cloak of Dredgen Yor is literally translated to Dredgen Yor's Cloak.
-
i think he's a hunter cause onestly ( sorry about bad spelling ) just think about titans well you look at them with a tiny pistol/hand cannon and he/she has massive armor... just looks a little out of place but still not saying it bad to use hand cannons on titans but my vote is hunter i find hunters are most commonly using hand cannons and well warlocks sometimes i like hand cannons on hunters cause of their agility and speed :) dats my apinun
-
The Cloak of Dredgen of Yor, has a hunter symbol on it.....so yeah
-
2 RepliesHe's a warlock and FYI Osiris was obsessed with the vex not the hive. Cards even show him as a warlock.
-
Nice post. Bump
-
1 ReplyHe's a huntlock.
-
-
Well you know just because he was into the hive like Toland doesn't make him a warlock plus the golden gun was fashioned after the last word, I believe there was a grimoire that Dredgen Yor was the first Golden gun and "Supercharged" his favorite gun. I'm not sure though
-
Kabr was a titan who explored the vex. Just because he was immersed in dark magic doesn't mean he was a warlock.
-
3 RepliesOsiris and Roland were warlocks, they researched the darkness and didn't let it consume them. Maybe because of them being warlock? Maybe yor was consumed by the darkness bc he was a hunter and wasn't as knowledgable with the darkness like a warlock Just a thought

3 RepliesWarlocks wore Cloaks before Hunters... But when did the Legend of Thorn take place, and when did Warlocks abandon cloaks? :000000000 This means that Dregden could be a Warlock as much as a Hunter! >:0000000000000000
