Just wanted to see what the community's thoughts were on pulse rifles after the patch. Feel free to talk about any of the other gun adjustments after the patch.
Thanks for sharing!
G-horns for all!

When I play crucible, I like to use something like an unbent tree. Something that I have been noticing when I am using the unbent tree is that I'm getting outgunned by pulse rifles like the clever dragon at close range. It makes my ar look not good because the fastest firing pulse rifles can maintain very good stability and damage. I wouldn't know how to fix that but it's just something I have observed while playing with any auto rifle at the ranges it is supposed to work at.

I feel like they are overpowered, but it may just be that autos are still garbage, and they are what I want to use. The nerf vs buff war is irrelevant to the competitiveness of the weapons. I think it boils down to whether the TTKs are quick and the firefight feels like a sim such as call of duty, or the TTKs are nerfed to feel like the old halo encounters where the encounters were more prolonged. I prefer the latter. I think the longer fights allow for more creativity, rather than just surprise kills from whomever pulls the trigger first, and/or wins the race to the end of a mathematical equation.

Add a slightly OP next time. A few minor tweaks and they'll be good

1 ReplyEdited by xenophone100: 11/4/2015 3:43:11 AMHonestly they fire way too fast. I love using the pulse rifle, they are awesome all around guns but the time to kill is so fast and range so good now that it makes auto rifles obsolete in objective based games. The smite of meryn or whatever seems to have insane fire rate and zero recoil. Lets be honest, with how easy it is to put the aimer on someones head combined with fire rate, low recoil and range, this weapon class is insane. Also, how come the hunter's subclass is the only one that is reasonable. The titan should have to walk while in hammer mode and the invincibility animation for the warlock should be reduced, if you are transforming into your super and someone hits you in the head with a shotgun point blank, you should be dead, and you should have to plan on opening your super in a more reasonable place.

I should not be this good at crucible. I had a tougher time with thorn

Edited by Vaerton: 11/4/2015 3:55:15 AMThey are only OP because there aren't very many primary weapons that can beat one.

There fine you don't need to buff autos, autos can still come out on top and close to mid range, depending on the map I use autos or pulse rifles the weapon system is really balanced now

Don't nerf pulse rifles, buff auto's and hand cannons

I've been playing Iron Banner with the same group of guys the past two times it was available, this time around Pulse Rifles (Red Death, The Strangers Rifle, Bad juju) are honestly way to overpowered. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that they are a good reliable weapon in PvE and even in normal crucible modes. It just seems like something is off when it takes a 2 burst with Red Death for a kill and 2 head shots (with the accuracy nerf) or multiple body shots with a good hand cannon for a kill.. It feels horrible after you put in so many hours with hand cannons or scout rifles, learning to aim correctly, controlling recoil & everything else, just to have a gun type knock you out before you can even get a few shots off. I've clocked in around 1888 hours on Destiny so far, I love playing it, it's really is a great game. However this time during the Iron Banner it was just to one sided, out of the 6 guys that played through the whole last IB, only 3 are still playing. We shouldn't have to change the weapons or how we have learned to play the game because of this buff. *We have only noticed this ridiculous amount of OP towards pulse rifles in the Iron Banner.

1 ReplyAuto rifles should go back to pre-recent nerf. Then all guns would feel balanced

Bad juju wrecks anything in pvp

Even after the pulse rifle buff, i dont find myself using them. Mainly because scout rifles are so much more useful in PVE.
