The group you raid with makes all the difference, that's true. Lately I've had to go LFG because of a lack of raid loot and/or FL availability and it is truly a mixed bag of people. The helpful, friendly, and mature randoms get added to my FL, but the bad ones almost ruin my day. Also another reason I don't raid much, the predication of "social" in my gaming experience is something I'd like to be able to CHOOSE to incorporate when I feel like it. So I don't really appreciate that the great raid loot is behind this "social" wall, but that's the way it is I guess.

I totally agree with you. I really enjoy the Crucible because it is collaborative with other people, but not social. I actually only ran my first Raid just a few weeks ago, even though I have had destiny since launch, because I didnt want to leap into this huge social thing as an older gamer that doesn't know a single other gamer in real life; my nieces need to hurry up and grow *fist shake* :) I have posted quite a few posts about improving Crucible loot, to no avail. I cant say I have seen/heard the point expressed so clearly before though, even in my own head. Good luck with the new console whenever you get it... if for some reason you go fr the PS4, send me a friend request...

Sounds like we both hail from a similar older generation :) ('79 is a birth year) Thank you for both your kind words about my post and for your optimism about the GOOD that can come from Bungie's "social imperative"-style raid strategy lol! I'll keep you in mind on PS4 as well..

You should think about joining a clan. I joined Raging Raccoon Rangers and they are a group of really cool and funny dudes. They are also super patient.

I have joined one on Xbox (we're just separated by platform atm I am currently on 360 and they are on One until I get my One). They are some friends I made years back on another title. And I have other people that graciously offer to take me along on raids, but the point I was trying to make was that I feel it an imposition on Bungie's part to put me in a place where I need to "join a clan" to have a chance to get some of the game's most unique loot.. Thanks for the tip though :)

You're welcome mate. Glad to know you have a group. The game does force you to find a clan - but while it can be trial and error as well as time consuming - there are so many clans - it's almost impossible not to be able to join one. I like the smaller clans as you can get to know them better and then pick up the new members as they come along. Just me though.
