>>>> IF YOU ARE STILL ENCOUNTERING ISSUES WITH YOUR GAMERTAG NOT BEING DETECTED BY OUR SITE, POST HERE<<<
RESOLUTION:
Thank you to everyone who reported their issues. We've been doing a lot of data gathering surrounding this issue, and your input has been incredibly valuable. So valuable, in fact, that we have found a cause for the problem and are preparing to deploy a fix so your gamertag information shows up on your Bungie.net profile.
Many of you will find that your Xbox Live gamertags are now appearing on your profiles, and you can access your Destiny account information; you've likely been a part of our science experiments if that's the case. If you still can't see your gamertag and Destiny info by the end of the week, the most likely cause is that you are not on the correct Microsoft account that has your Xbox Live information.
If your gamertag info is still not showing, you can troubleshoot the status of your Microsoft and Xbox Live info here.
You will hopefully find that you indeed used a different Microsoft Account. If that is the case, create a new Bungie.net profile with the correct account. If it is not the case, we have seen issues where something in Microsoft's system is not properly reporting your gamertag to Bungie. In this case, Microsoft support has been able to work with customers to resolve this issue.
This thread's purpose is for me to gather information in order to diagnose what is wrong. This thread is not about whether your character shows up as just a silhouette. That is a WebGL problem on your browser or a hardware issue with your mobile device. Feel free to make a new thread about it under #Help and #mobileissues. Be sure to include your device platform, OS, OS version, and app version (you can find it under the about tab).
Because there's many of you and one of me, I won't be able to reply much. Please don't be mad.
Reminder: As some people have learned the hard way, posting offtopic or inflammatory posts will result in your ungraceful exit from the thread.

6 RepliesEdited by SouthMiami88: 3/3/2015 3:38:25 PMI got it to work! I don't know how or why but this is what I did. 1. I tried to unlink my Microsoft account from my Bungie.net profile but it wouldn't let me because it was the account I used to sign in with on Bungie.net. So I linked my Facebook account to my Bungie.net profile, signed out of bungie.net, then signed back in using my Facebook account and unlinked my Microsoft account. 2. Once I unlinked my Microsoft account, I created a new Bungie.net profile using my Microsoft account information. Once this was done I still had the same issue where I couldn't see Guardian, Grimoire, Friends, etc. 3. Since I still had the same issue, I logged back in to this account using Facebook and then linked my Microsoft account back to this Bungie.net profile. Once I did this everything popped up and I could see everything. Don't know how but hopefully this helps somebody. Also Bungie there is a useless account floating around out there, sorry!

2 RepliesEdited by jsmjr: 3/4/2015 6:31:44 AMHere's a clear snapshot of the glitch in action. On the one hand, under Profile Settings, you can see that my Microsoft/Xbox Live account is linked. (It is not public. The toggle to display the account on public profile does not work.) On the other hand, you can see that Xbox Friends are not viewable, and the drop down asks me to "Link Xbox Live account." This is a fairly new Bungie account. It was created using my Microsoft account then linked successfully to Facebook. I've signed in and out multiple times and I've linked and unlinked from Microsoft multiple times (using Facebook as the alternate log-in). No dice. (And very annoying. Without gamertag linking, most features on Bungie.net are inaccessible.) (EDIT - If the screen cap is not showing, you can find it here: http://i.imgur.com/rmegUsK.jpg)

Edited by Saxon002: 3/5/2015 5:39:58 AMSaxon002 I have tried "re-linking" account with xbox live a few times and it doesn't help. I'm using the right email and password. Xbox one. I don't have access to any guardians or the vault. The "legend" icon isn't even available on my companion app when logged in, but it does show my gamer tag. Thanks! 1) No 2) No 3) Yes 4) Yes 5) Xbox 1

My problem is IDENTICAL to jsmjr's screenshot. I recently just got the app to try out the vault feature, but instead it wouldn't allow me to link my characters, despite showing that my Microsoft account was linked. I have answered and completed all of the questions and logged in and out numerous times, but nothing has changed. Hope you find the answer soon and good luck.

1: No 2: Yes 3: Yes 4: yes I have checked numerous times that this is the right microsoft account linked to my gamertag Finalcashew. I also found it funny that the customer service I dealt with on their end stated that the issue is not on their end but likely on yours. Do large companies always do this to each other? (sidenote :/ ) 5: My gamertag was created on xbox 360 but I now own an Xbox one. The gamertag is now used only on the xbox one and destiny has only been played on the xbox one. Thanks for any help in advance I know it's not your intentions!
