Which is your favourite and why? Launchers pack that boss-killing punch, while machine guns can take down multiple targets in one mag. Debate!

1 ReplyReally tough question! When I first started playing I thought the Machine Guns were useless and always used a rocket launcher, that was until I got the Super Good Advice and started leveling it up, what a beast this thing is, the perk for almost all missed rounds returning to the chamber is just brilliant. So for a while I thought that was it, until I then got the Dragons Breath. It might not have tracking, but in ever other way I love it, especially good for hitting large, powerful targets like Ogre's or Crota 3 times in quick succession. I now also have the Song of Ir Yut, which is particularly good against Hive targets. So which is better? I really can't make up my mind, it all depends on the situation. Are you taking on hoards of lower class enemies, or are you taking on a single large, powerful enemy?

Thunderlord is where it's at in pvp, can get a minimum 5 kills with it every time. My best rocket is hunger of crota that I just got and it does good in pve but I'm partial to hmg either way

I actually tend to find HMG useful in more situations than Rockets. Most of the tough enemies in this game have fairly large crit zones and if you have a high stability HMG you can put alot of damage out.

PvE- Rocket Launcher PvP- Machine Gun

2 Repliescaveat being I'm in close quarters- I like machine guns. I recently got Truth, but have hardly used it yet.

PvE- rocket launcher PvP- machine gun. (Swarm wrecks)

Men use machine guns in PVP. Ladyboys use rocket launchers.

Can't compare apples and oranges in pve. They have completely different uses. In pvp I prefer launchers (the truth) although machine guns can wreck too. But with truth 4 kills is pretty much guaranteed. You could get 5 or 6 with corrective measure but it takes skill and luck.

It depends. I prefer rockets atm as they have the best spike damage vs tough enemies.
